A Youtube video from a Filipina lb and her view/experiences of Pattaya and Walking Street. She recounts some instances where she and her friend were denied entry to some bars/clubs because they are lbs, even though they were not Thai (had to show their Philippines passport).

Not really sure what her beef is...yeah, some clubs/bars on Walking Street don't admit ladyboys (don't know about if they are accompanied with male partners). Maybe being a visitor she didn't know but I'm sure it's even worse in the Philippines.

Didn't seem to me like she really had a beef, per se. Just observations and a wish that someday people would not generalize because of being transexual. She also acknowledges the misbehavior of other LB's as being the likely cause of her being denied entry. When i was a serviceman in Japan in the 80's, it was not uncommon to be denied entry to some Japanese "hostess clubs". My reaction to,that was similar to the lady in this video. Good natured resignation, and a shrug of the shoulders. No biggie.

Also, she is gorgeous.

I saw this ladyboy advertising her 'services' in Thailand on a few sites. I think when freelancers arrive from other countries to prostitute themselves in Thailand (a country that isn't exactly suffering from a drought in terms of working girls), they can have little beef ith concerns to attitudes and their treatment.

 

A lot of these foreign ladyboys get upset when they see the vast amount of ladyboys available in Pattaya, and suddenly have to come to terms with the amount of competition and how much their own value has plummeted. 

 

Fortunately there is currently a good group of Filipino escorts working in Pattaya, who have come with the right attitude and are getting good business and enjoying life here.

I watched the video, and have to say that I totally agree with Surin Nix (as usual).  She didn't sound bitter or as if she had a beef.  She was careful to point out that everyone seemed very nice, and that (as Surin said) she understood the reason for the prejudice, but lamented the fact that it exists, and hopes it will change.  BTW, Fiona is from the town in which I live.  Her cousin, who  is also a ladyboy (although not in the P4P scene) lives here too, and is a friend of Angel's.  Jonnieb, take my word for it that all Filipino ladyboys who work as escorts are very well aware of the vast number of LBs in LOS long before they go there, and don't get "upset" when they see the competition.  When I mentioned to Angel that it seemed strange that the girls from The Philippines would travel to Thailand to ply their trade when they know that there are already "millions" of Thai LBs, she said, "Yes, but there are also a 'gazillion' Western guys looking for them there."

..I agree with the comments made she was just expressing her observations that some of the clubs that don't allow LBs entrance and probably because they had no male partners with them, that being said I've found that "greasing the palm" seems to remove any question of discrimination, greed seems to trump that hurdle..
