Go for it.
I was over 55 when I had my first thai LB Not a problem.
Apart the wallet attraction, age is not a problem at all in Asian countries and Thailand is no exception.
They know more mature customers (lets not forget what we are) have more financial means, are aware they cannot bed girls because they are no brad Pitt.
Girls there are after our money and if we are handsome, age helps to be handsome, we win them.
They also know we are not fucking rabbit to screw them 10 times in a night.
You will be surprised, when in Thailand, by how many age retired man walk aside a 25 to 35 yo girl. Sometime even younger.
So don't let the age factor be an issue.

I think the point has been pretty clearly made here, but just in case you still have doubts, 63 is definitely not too old for your first LB experience. As for the idea that the punters who frequent ladyboy bars are all young studs, that is simply not true. You will find that ladyboy clientele is very diverse, and you will definitely not be out of place. You need to put your doubts aside and start making plans to get over there and getting amongst it all. Just do  a bit of research on where to go, where to stay, what scams to be aware of (there are various ways Thai people, not necessarily ladyboys, will try and trick newbies out of their money), and you will have a great time. Good luck with it all.

LOTS of 60+ in lb bars. I remember being in bars where I was the youngest customer there by 25 years at least.

Reminds me of a post a few years ago complaining that lbs prefered older customers because of the; retirement, steady customer, more money, less nights work, reasons.

I was 63 when I had my first LB experience. Now almost 71 and still going strong! As long as you can get around and keep a duffel bag of viagra [if needed of course] on hand, you will have a whole new life. I agree that LOS is the best place to start to have a satisfying experience. Cheers

Thank you all for your very wise words.  Of course, I know in my heart that I must take the plunge!

I've been looking at flights, hotels, etc., and hope to get to BKK before the end of November.

I really hope you carry this through. You'll have the time of your life and it will put a zing in your step. Forget about age in Thailand, it doesn't matter.

Let us know your progress and when you plan to arrive.

Post here or drop me a PM if you like. I'll meet you for a drink, a natter and show you a few bars   :)
