You've probably heard, we had a bit of a drama next door in the Tiger disco at 4am friday night/saturday morning.

Sadly at least 4 people lost their lives in the inferno. Although the thai rumour mill is full of stories of many more. But i think thats just stupid thai gossip. I cant imagine there were so many folk in there at this time of year. It would have been a major catastrophe in High Season.

Naturally, the atmosphere in Patong last night was rather subdued. And with the world's media once again focussing on a negative aspect of Thailand, bangkok is pretty upset. Hence the 2am crackdown.
An already horrendous Low Season just got that little bit worse, and if you're a disco owner, A LOT WORSE.

However, we got on with the show, and enticed a few curious tourists:

Jimbo, good to see that C&D's appears to have at least made a token effort in the transfer market with the recent signing of May, apart from that personnel look to be much the same as the previous twelve months.
Any more fresh meat lined up or is recruitment on Phuket for the right type a challenging experience.

Another Asian nightclub catastrophe. I could barely believe it, 4 people dead with many others badly burnt, it's all Patong needs right now. And it was especially poignant for me because I have had a few late nights there myself over the years. I always thought if there was going to be people killed in a crush to escape from some place it would be that yellow place down on Beach Road, the Banana Disco. Man, did they pack them in there!

Jimbo, we all sympathise with you, this isn't making things easier. But you are selling a unique product & now is not the time to chuck it all in & surrender.

Here's a suggestion - put LB69 back on your daily roster. You need all the available free publicity you can get & you did have a regular following here. And you are loved, even by the people you don't think love you, in the bottom of their hearts, they do. Even Anthony.

It's a win/win situation Jimbo, you increase your internet exposure & you increase your standing with all the FMs here. Some of them are already regular customers of yours but more importantly, there are the new members, some of whom will be the customers of tomorrow.

Just hold your nose & do it. Pleeease.

Well thanks for that Paccers. I need a few encouraging words just at the moment, as its so damn quiet. And i notice how quiet this forum is too. I check in a couple of times a day and am often the only one in the place! Sad to see its also suffering its own Low Season.

You thought Banana was a deathtrap. I went once to Hollywood and couldn't wait to get out, as that place will kill hundreds one day for sure.
Far be it for me to be suspicious, but the lease on Tiger is coming to an end shortly. That fire wouldn't be a coincidence, now would it?

Arsonist (interesting name!): recruitment is certainly a problem at the moment, and frankly i cant look a prospect in the eye and tell her she's going to earn any money just now. Its best we just wait until things pick up. We've had a few dodgy looking Cambodian LBs around looking for work. But with no work permit, thats just asking for trouble.
