So...where do we all regard as the best location in Pattaya to rest our heads while being in the zone for the things we like to do.

I am pretty much coming to the conclusion that Soi Buakaow close to Soi Diana is perhaps the best place to locate myself on short trips (under 2 weeks) perhaps a little bit further away from the action for those longer stays.

The most suitable place I have ever stayed in Pattaya at the best price is Rogue Apartments, close to the area I just described. Only trouble is......the nice apartments in the new block always seem to be occupied long term :tantrum:

Where is your preferred accommodation location in Pattaya ?

Soi Buakaow near Diana/Honey no contest. Everything you need within a hop step and a jump.

For example last trip was cleaning my glasses just before I was to step out (about 9 pm) and broke the nosepiece. No problem 15 yards down Soi B. optometrist still open. Fixed in 5 minutes. How much I say. No charge she say...it service.

Cheers DK
Oh so happy when in LOS

I normally stay at the Dynasty on soi 13 as I like that area, the most notable attraction being the close proximity to Stringfellows, my favorite Pattaya bar.
I've also tried the August Suites which was ok and my last trip I spent my first three nights at the Nirvana Boutique in Jomtien, the best value hotel I have ever stayed in. The late night motorbike taxi trips home do your head in though.
I hit town on 2 Feb and I'm giving the Page 10 hotel a crack this time. I usually have lunch upstairs at Central so it will be a short stroll for lunch each day. I have been meaning the try a hotel around Buakow as many bm's recommend that area but it's not an area I am very familiar with.

Nicky House, Jomtien (http://www.nickyhouse.com/). Short baht bus ride to Pattaya, cheap, clean rooms, has one of the best sea views and is also managed by Korat guy.

Jomtien as a such is a perfect little place to spend few days especially if you are with car. Beach is not as bad as in Pattaya, place has much more seaside resort feeling and even tourists are like real tourists not punter/Russian/middle eastern guys mix you see in Pattaya). If you need big dose of sleaze or shopping you are only 20 THB ride away from the action.

Soi Buakaow, near the market by the R-Con.

Many a creature seem to hang that area after work.

Baht Bus either way to Tuk Com area, or Soi 6 way and beyond.

Walk through towards Made In Thailand complex for Central Festival/Beach Road

Walk through also available to Soi 7/8 through an expat area (forget name) with 25 baht Sangsom....

Best breakfast deal going at Jolly's Guesthouse opposite Chaba Hut.

Don't think I'll stay any other area in Patts....
If it fails to inflate....blow into this tube.

I agree with most of the above comments.

When I used to come from far away for longer stints, I typically plopped down in a bigger place, nearer the madness. Now that I've been making shorter sortees more regularly, I've been enjoying checking out smaller places along Buakhao and behind Tukcom. I'm a fan...

Anywhere between 18 Coins Guest House to the R con on soi Buakaow.

Though I did like April suites just off 2nd road in a little soi just after Pattaya Klang on my last visit

For me, I like the PBR for long stay, kind of Centrally located, foods OK upstairs and pool gets fair amount of sun exposure.
Hotel Tuk takes you to Buakhao as well as secod road where you can cross (Timing Permitting based on TRaffic light at the end of Beach road), Diana ans Pooks éothers not so far, and soi 13 La Bamba, Stringfellows are close by.
Ok on the way in, different story on the way back (Mostly relying on the help of a companion of the evening) to cross that second road. Damn, do they ever go fast. Only the Pick up taxis slow down hoping you need them.
Use PBR as a base when Pattaya way, and even if I leave 3 or 4 days, not a big $ difference fromm regular places, plus you leave the luggages behind,
Ok for me, guess I am a Pool Freak (Bad past experiences with broken glass on the beach)

I've stayed at PBR in past (decent central location) and last year I stayed right above the heart of things on the 9th floor of the Grand Hotel which is on Walking Street across the alley from Secrets. I loved the location (could walk out at 3am and find a freelancer if the need arose!) but they wouldn't give me the discount I got last year for a return trip. Plus the noise was pretty bad until 3 or 4am every night.

So this year its' the Page 10 for me as well. Looking forward to it as I love Central Festival for lunch and my daily frozen yogurt, and it will put me closer to my beloved Soi 6 as well. I don't mind a daily march from Walking Street to the Dolphin turnabout and back, so it's nicely located between Walking Street and Soi 2.

It looks like a pretty upscale place for a monger hangout in Patts, and will put me closer to Anaconda and some of the places I've not checked out as thoroughly on past trips, which should lead to some interesting finds.

Looking forward to it. I'll be there from the 26th through the 13th so I'm sure I'll bump into you. Hope to see you at the GOTC II on your 2nd night in town (Feb. 3) at Pook Soi 6 upstairs bar.
2nd Annual GOTC: 3rd Feb. 2012 8pm Pook Soi 6 (upstairs bar) - BE THERE!

dt69, good to hear a fellow bm will be in residence at the Page 10. I'm normally a lone wolf type when hunting for ladyboys but I will be making an effort to meet some fellow bms this trip and I had pencilled in the GOTC on Feb 3. I will pm you my Thai number before I arrive in town and I look forward to meeting you.
