I left for my last morning walk in Battambang. Past the recycle centres for the last time, down some back lanes towards the old Phsar Boeung Market again which I thought was the best here.

Enjoying the photos DC.
Thanks alot guys, as always it's nice to receive some positive feedback along the wayExcellent photos there, you capture the place well and Monkey drinking coke sure made me chortle!
I'm doing this report as much for others who may be interested in travelling further afield in Cambodia as I am for myself to keep a simple record of my own travels to these parts.
I understand a TR like this can be a bit boring for many who focus primarily on the bar scene and the girls of the countries they visit, but these things can still be enjoyed too.

Despite saying she was leaving on the bike in a minute and the fact I had a 20 minute walk ahead of me to the restaurant I still had to wait perhaps another 30 minutes for her while a one-legged beggar followed me around.
She eventually arrived and ordered a fruit salad, but I fancied a cholesterol fix so ordered the 'Fast Breakfast', it was ok but not earth-shattering so I helped her with hers.

After breakfast we rode off to locate the Battambang boat terminal and it turned out to be where I thought it should have been but the sign was faded and a bit hidden, hence me failing to find it previously.
We bought the two tickets we needed for tomorrow's boat trip. Khmer $10, foreigner $20. Nothing better than feeling like an alien.

Thanks DC for reminding us how lucky we are. Looking at the rider sitting on his bike taxi made me thankful it was him & not me. And that one legged beggar, did you sling him a coin, I'm sure he was hungry...

The alarm had been set for 05:45am as we'd been requested to arrive at the dock at 06:30. We should've packed the night before but we'd both fallen asleep having done none of it, so we both got on with it straight away after the alarm went and happily we were done in plenty of time.
Had tinned iced-coffee from the fridge each before leaving at 06:15 and arrived at the ferry terminal 5 minutes later.

The views from the river were excellent with local life occuring all around. Although mildly uncomfortable on the hard uncushioned seats we switched buttocks periodically to relieve the discomfort.

As I was waiting for her I did not but I had done before as I'd seen him around a few times. But once we'd eaten and check-binned we noticed him as we mounted the bike as he'd moved around the corner out of sight by then so I gave him a few loose Riel notes from my change.
If he'd stood kerbside watching us eat our breakfasts I probably wouldn't have given him anything.

We were fed and watered and those needing a toilet break had relief.
