Firstly it's been a revelation finding this forum, and so many like-minded and wondefully supportive people who share my love of Asian ladyboys.

Anyway, it seems Thailand is Mecca for us and, having never been with a LB before, am seriously considering a trip to taste its sweetest fruit.

But I would be going alone to a strange, dangerous place and would like some serious opinions about just how dangerous it would be for a young Aussie like me to try to find some nice company with some of these cinnamon honeys.

Expressly I'm talking about thieves and gangsters. It seems like it's best to try to hook up with other guys there and go trawling for LBs together. Safety in numbers and all that.

Anyone give me any stories, advice or some links to other forum topics that might help me out?

Cheers.

Dont worry SeeJay, Thailand is a safe country for travelling. As long as you dont show everybody that you have 20000 baht in your pockets or visit the suburbs at night everything will be fine.

I am travelling since 5 years in southeastasia and nothing ever happens to me what is related with any crime.

When you be there the first time, you become a victim of the scam-artists, but you live you learn!

Have fun!!!

But what kind of scams. Will the LBs take my money and dissappear? I suppose the bar girls are as honest as they can be, considering that fleecing customers would be bad for business.

Also I've read that a hormonal imbalance in a lot of LBs makes them violent and crazy.

Exactly. You're only here for a short time. I've got a lot of crazy stuff I want to do before I settle down.

Just wondering if it's worth purchasing a 'legitimate' tour package for accomodation and airfares in the hope that nights would be free.

Another question: I'm a little confused about the lingo. Is 'short time' code for blowjob or is it literally getting do do what you want for a short amount of time.

Because I can imagine that my first experiences (as a straight LB-curious guy) will probably be getting blowjobs.

Can you just ask a LB for head or is there some kind of code word you need to use?

Hi Guys,

Personal safety should not be a factor preventing you from travelling to Thailand and exploring the wonderful country and ladyboy scene.

I travel 2 or 3 times a year to Thailand, and have done so for 13 years without incident.

Providing you are sensible, you have nothing to worry about.

Just use common sense, put all your valuables in the safety box, and carry only what you need for the evening.

Cheers

guys, as long as you apply common sense, don't get too drunk, only carry cash amount you can afford to lose and use hotel safes... there really is no reason to worry

also, as a newbie, best to avoid freelancers and barfine girls from bars so you can always track em down

I always go lb-hunting on my own. BKK is relatively safe

just relax and enjoy ... it's hard not to! :D

(and be nice to people - it will pay off)

I agree completely - admitted, I have only been in BKK for a week and all the time in the company of a tg-friend of mine. It seemed a perfectly friendly place, not at all unlike Jakarta, where I live.

When I moved here I was immediately smitten by the constant smiles and friendliness - and ofcourse I smile back :-) Ok, some of my Indonesian friends here have from time to time looked a bit worried when I out of curiousity went around alone in all kinds of neighbourhoods and certainly it makes sense to be cautious - as anywhere else.

So go rock it, baby!

Peace!

Hank

I remember the first time I was travelling to Thailand, I remember friends telling me horror stories about people getting there hands chopped off in markets just to have their gold bracelet stolen, people being kidnapped and having their passport nicked, one man falling sick and being left to rot in a prison like room because he had no money after being mugged in the emergency room. All these stories are completely false and laughable..

Thailand as actually a lot more safer crime Wise than the UK. I have never had any problems myself and rarely seen trouble. There is crime of course but most of it can be easily avoided with common sense. The only thing that has worried me or caused me problems is bumping into drunk British and Aussie guys., and most problems I have heard of have involved such people.

Regarding scams, you are quick to pick up on most of them and they tend to be incredibly petty. Usually taxi drivers trying to waggle a few extra baht (usually 20-100bht too much), tuk tuk drivers trying get you to make detours to tailors, adding 20 minutes onto a 5 minute journey (which is actually good for a laugh every now and then), or sleazy guys on sukhumvit trying to get you to go to a massage parlour where they charge you 500bht extra for your trouble (but I’m sure you’d still have a pretty awesome time)...

Scams involving LBs and bar girls aren’t very common at all if you continue with common sense. The bar/go-go scene is so huge and reasonably well run, that as long as you take someone from a bar if they did cause you any problems you can go back to the bar the next day and you can be sure they will rectify the problem. Taking LBs from the street before 1am isn’t advised, as there is usually a reason these girls don’t work in a bar. It’s not necessarily dangerous, but you do here stories of stealing etc.. Saying that I’ve done it before and had a good time, if you are paranoid or too worried just keep an Eye on your wallet and phone at all time, and make sure she hands her Id over to the hotel reception (a lot of hotels wont even let a lb/girl in without her handing over her id – another reason to feel safe). You hear rare scams of girls spiking drinks, by these stories are EXTREMELY rare, and again possibly avoided with common sense. I would even make the assumption that all of the so called ‘dodgy’ LBs are stuck on Yabba or Ice or both, and so with any girl acting a little too high on her own supply you should just e a bit more cautious or even avoid her.

Don’t bother with a tour package, it wouldn’t make any sense at all, I can guarantee you you’ll suss everything out within a day or so of arriving. A tour package is also likely to stick you in a hotel that’s not LB or even guest friendly, which means you wouldn’t be allowed to take anyone to your room.
The best bet is to use this site, read up as much as you can, even take notes, the more the better. And talk to people as you are. It’s also a great idea to arrange to meet one or more people. The great thing about this site is there are members heading in and out of Thailand all the time, and most people go on there own due to the exclusivity of their hobby and love the chance to meet up with fellow LB admirers and having a drinking partner. Go to the classifieds and post up you holiday dates.

Very basic lingo and price guide –
Short time is taking a girl for 1-3 hours back to you room for full sex (roughly between 1000-1500 – more for a free lance escort and sometimes less for a girl on the street)
Long time means all night, you’ll usually get another session in the morning and a lot of girls/LBs won’t leave until you tell them to, or until they have to go to work the next day (1500-2500)

If you look and act like you don’t know what you are doing many LBs will ask for more money, but don’t pay more. If you really enjoy your time with them give them a tip after. Don’t be soft or afraid to negotiate, everyone does it.

Awesome post there. Sounds like you (or someone) should write a book.

Or, at least, a detailed online guide.
