Some really great photo's you snapped there BB.

Thanks OTS. That's one of the enjoyments of photography, walking familiar sois, beaches etc, but seeing them in a different way and paying more attention to detail. Love it. :pic:

There's got to be a one liner in that Thai Wood photo...

You really make Hua Hin come alive with all the different photos. For sure a place I shall be visiting.

Cheers and good to hear you are considering the place. Nice convenient spot to escape the madness of the bigger resorts but still something to do there.

NW and I meet up with Putytat about 8 pm in Ko, one of the outdoor restaurants in the Night Market. They do a selection of Western and Thai food, with seafood quite prominent on the menu, as it it with most restaurants in the market. The market is basically a line of stalls on either side of a pedestrianised street, great for people watching.

After dinner we head down to the bar area and try to find some beer.... We hit Hornblowers again, and chill over a few cold ones and shoot the breeze while observing Caddy Shack opposite. Soi Binthabaht is next on our itinerary and a couple of bars there before coming back about 1.30 am to have a swift one in Caddy Shack. The owner of our GH is down the back of the place, we reckon he is secretly one of us, but we don't push him on it. Pop from earlier in the afternoon is tapping away on her laptop, and she seems much more interested in yakking to her friends on the various messenger applications than anyone around her.

The owner of the Celtic reckons one of the bars up the the late area will be open, and sure enough when we get there it is. Hidden away in the corner, the Thai owner obviously has some agreement with the BiB about staying open. Our host from the GH makes a beeline for the LB working there, we smile to each other with knowing nods.

Putytat is on for a late night, and is keen to check out this beach bar we have been talking about. So after some drinks we head there. The usual suspects for the previous 2 nights are present. This turns is our latest night so far in HH, I think we get home around 7.30 am, escorted by an amazing skyline.

Tuesday 3 May.

I get a call from EyeMahk about noon,(the time, not an LB ) to let me know he is near town. The previous day he had sent me a text to book him a room in the Celtic, his regular GH also when he is in HH. He arrives 20 minutes later, and we catch up briefly. I mention to him we are heading off for a drive in in a while, but he he has that mischievous glint in his eye that those who know him will recognise. That look tells me he is on a mission for the afternoon, he spares me the details, for now.

NW and I grab some food in the Celtic and wander up to meet Putytat at his hotel near the NIght Market. We jump into his car, and head south to the end of the beach, to Khao Takiab. Here there is a golden Buddha and around the corner and up the hill there is a temple, with a lot of damn monkeys. Before we alight the car I suggest me put our camera straps around our necks and hold on to them, these mischief makers could make of with them pretty fast gibbon half a chance boom boom. :D

After leaving monkey mountain, we visit the beach on the other side. This is a good option for a day out away from HH. The beach is pretty quiet even in high season.

After taking a few shots, we push on towards Pranburi. I have only ever been this far down this road on coaches to Phuket and it crosses my mind if we keep driving we could be on Bangla road for a night out well before midnight. Not today alas. we pass throught Pranburi town and head towards the coast and Khao Kalok bay. This quiet coastal stretch has a beautiful beach, several restaurants and a cave with a hole through it. It gets its name from this which is translated to "skull mountain" in English.

We head around the hill and visit a quiet fishing area. From there we drive along the coast road a bit longer before deciding it is getting on and it would be better if we start making our way back towards HH. The discussion on the journey back is to change the course of the last part of my trip.

As you may remember I mentioned my plan is to stay in HH till Saturday, then go to Bkk for the last 3 days to visit some friends and do some shopping. Well on the way Putytat says he is driving back to Pattaya on Thursday and NW asks would it be ok if he took a lift with him. He does not seem to keen on hitting Bkk at the weekend, and the lift to Pattaya is too tempting for him.

I am quite content in HH and Foggy is coming on Thursday to join me there for a couple of days. So I am going to stay as planned. But then I get thinking, there are really only 2 friends I need to meet in Bkk and besides that there really is no reason for me to visit Bkk. What can I do, the idea off finishing off the trip back in Patts gets my mind buzzing but what about my friends in BKK. I get out of the car at the Village Market shopping mall approaching HH as I need to buy some stuff but my mind is still racing about a potential finale in Pattaya.

As I stroll back into HH I have a brain wave. I call my 2 friends in Bkk and ask them are they free tomorrow, Wednesday? They both reply in the positive, and I ask can we meet up then for a night out, again they say sure. So that's it, tomorrow I'll pop up to Bkk, meet my friends, come back to HH on Thursday to meet Foggy, and then head to Patts to reunite with NW for my 2 last nights in Los. And to think when I left Pattaya on Saturday I had no idea when I would be back, certainly not a week later, magic.

Thanks Thailover. I really love getting out into a landscape/seascape and trying to capture it as best I can.
