I just recently moved to south Florida, and I'm hoping that someone can reccomend a good way to get to BKK from Miami or Orlando. What I'm pulling up on the internet is flights that are traveling westwards towards Thailand. I would have thought that there might be flights flying eastwards (It looks like it might be shorter. Just wondering if anyone from this neck of the woods had any ideas. I got spoiled by living prevously in Los Angeles and there were any number of flights to LOS. Any ideas would be appreciated.

You could try flying to New York and taking one of the Arabian Gulf airlines - Emirates/Qatar Air/Etihad, which will have non-stop flights to their hubs (Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi) - and then continue onto Bangkok. It would be quite a lot of flying time.

I'm not sure of the price.

FWIW according to one of those Internet mileage sites:
Miami-Inchon(Korea)-BKK = 10,023 miles
Miami-Dubai-BKK = 10,895 miles
But this will vary depending on where you need to go in the US from Miami to catch your second flight.

It's a Damn long way no matter which direction you go. I just hours ago returned BKK-Inchon-San Francisco-Denver.

There are some decent prices from MIA-BKK this month and next. But prices for the summer look very bad.

Since a recent major link up with American Airlines and Iberia....BA could be worth a look from Miami via London or Madrid....

Orlando-London Gatwick and then London Heathrow-Bangkok is also an option......with an hour coach transfer in between.....

Also, get to JFK and you can try Singapore Airlines or Cathay Pacific to Asia with onward connections.....

Long way, no matter how you look at it.
If it fails to inflate....blow into this tube.

...BA could be worth a look...

When searching for flights from LHR to BKK I avoid BA and any associated airline (i.e. Qantas) like the plague. I want to get to my destination on the date intended without constant ongoing fears of strikes and disruption, despite a tranche of current good prices, I always choose other carriers.

For me, the damage caused to BA by Unite has already been done. It will take several years of strike-free service for me to regain any trust in them.

There are talks already of strikes by Cabin Crew again this Easter, so beware:

Thanks BA, but no thanks :|

They probably are, as I'm far from being alone in not using them.

Economy should be no more than $1500 round trip. I fly out of NC and the most I've paid is $1300. Try this website: http://www.mobissimo...rch_airfare.php

Here is another site to try: http://www.kayak.com
I'm seeing ~$1600 from Miami during the summer and ~$1350 in the fall flying economy.

Never hurts to have a look at prices from Atlanta, NYC area airports, Wash DC, Chicago or Detroit. You can fly one stop from those cities to BKK and sometimes can put a better trip together yourself.

Some of the US airline have very poor legroom in economy. I usually check out the planes I travel on at: http://www.seatguru.com/ One trip to SE Asia with only 31" seat pitch was more than enough for me at six feet tall.

those look a lot better. I think I was looking at vip seats or something  thanks a lot
as far as leg room, I'm not a big guy but the flight is pretty long, right? I read something like 30 hours from US to phuket
