While out of work and to stay on the forum will be a bit to much for me. Part of working was putting the money to one side for my trips. I feel until I am back in work I need forget about LOS and put all my energy into finding new work.
not just a dreamer but a realist.

But don't let it stop you from signing in on the forums......
No matter how or when you will be able to scrap up the dosh for your next trip, it's still good to keep abreast of things until then, and will keep you going with that goal in mind.
As you know, I have been permanently put out to grass 4 years ago, on minimum income here in Holland. But I will still manage to get a couple of weeks in, if not 3, once a year. Actually one year I could only afford 10 days, but it was the best 10 days of that year, and this is what keeps me going from one year to the next.
I can do this, as I have no dependents anymore, and able to cut corners when I choose, but for the rest of the year I need the forums to keep me going.
This is why I go in June, as it is low season, and I watch the prices of the flights. If I find I cannot afford my goal, when it comes closer to the time.... I simply cut one or two days off it.
Like you, when I was working, I spent the minimum of 2 months of the year in LOS. But you soon get use to the once a year, and actually makes it that much more enjoyable. Sometimes it runs through my mind after looking in my wallet, I would have only enough for a long weekend, or a week, but I would still do it.
So keep your chin up mate..... I know what your going through, and under stand how you feel.
PS; Did you get the big 'H' sorted out yet?
If you haven't, then now is a good time to get it sorted........ You don't want to be kicking your intestines around the Pattaya pavement.
Cheer up mate
Paul

Im still working till the 31st January as that's the last day of the contact.
Paul sound advice as always. I had my hernia op back in September, even did a short run a few mornings back. so fine and dandy now mate.
BB I see your logic to and maybe it was just the initial shock of being told that the contract will not be renewed by the bank and that they will turning customer service over to an Indian call centre. I think I might just stay here a while longer.
If the package they give me is good I might just get out to los for a few months.

Sound advice from Paul.
Do not let this latest event dictate your life - it can drive you under. The best advice I had was to continue your own personal life as if it had not happened - that gives you a more positive outlook.
Plan your finances in advance and just get networking. The 'grey' job market is much more buyount than the formal market.
Just accept that your new job is looking for a new job. Good luck.

Hopefully the initial shock will have worn off and the chin is up and you're looking ahead....being cheerful at work may also help...the Asian call centres may be a good move for the bean counters but experience has taught the big names that this is not necessarily a wise move....
They also have a time-bound mandate to inform you if your job is at risk but you being the man on the ground will know far more than us in cyber-space!
The forum and the guys do value your input so please don't be a stranger!
