Hi Patrick, Ive re-attached a report I uploaded back in June of this year. This will give you practical information, which you are looking for.

When in Rio I did a bit of prowling around at night to see what the city had to offer. I used the information already uploaded onto Ladyboy 69 forum to help direct me initially. It's naturally somewhat out of date but what travel guide books/forums aren't I hear you say. Anyhow the following is my short report based on my experiences.
1. Lapa neighbourhood-
I counted around 6 trannies-tall Amazonian type of average quality, hanging about on both sides of the main street in Lapa (R.Teixeira des Freitas) on a very busy Friday night interminging with punters on the traffic island around the food stalls. The going rate was 150 Brazilian reais solely based on one who I spoke with. I wasn't tempted as she was not the friendliest and the rate was a bit high I thought.
Elsewhere in Lapa around 100 yards up from the petrol station along Avenue Republica de Paraguai- 4 streets converge. I saw 6-7 loitering around next to low budget hotels on a Tuesday and Thursday nights around midnight. Approached several of them and the going rate was just 30 to 50 reais for completa/ all in. What was interesting is that they are standing literally only 15 yards away from where people are drinking in bars. As a result it is safe to approach them and chat to each in turn. No need to get a taxi therefore. If one strikes your fancy all you have to do is walk across the street to the hotels where rooms are available to hire at 20 reais. The quality of the girls was 'poor to average'.
Around 800 metres away in Avenue dua Gloria and Av Augusto do Severo you can also find them loitering. This is more off the beaten track so you may want to initially get a taxi if your a little nervous and get him to drive around. After the 1st night I walked up to this location as people where constantly leaving Lapa to go home along this stretch. Once again the quality was just OK to average. Rate was 50 reais for completa and 20 for hotel.
2. Centro Area
I went to a club on a Wednesday night which is given over to trannies and their admirers in the Centro area of Rio.
Just google Club Mix Rio. You'll need to get a cab to it. Paid 50 reais entrance fee. Very small club. Only 8-9 girls turned up on the night I went and the quality of girls was poor to average. You could take photos and get the girls numbers easily. Because nothing was really happening in the club on the night in question I decided to get a taxi outside the door of the club. I struck up a conversation of sorts with my driver. His name is Rossine and his phone number is 7849-7149. He took me back to Lapa around Augusto Sevoro upon my request but he persuaded me to take a taxi up to Copacabana's main strip along the ocean front Avenue d'Atlantica.
3. Copacabana.
Sure enough there were several lingering between the cars. All I had to do was roll down the windscreen and Rossine acted as my interpreter. He hangled the prices down from 100 reais to 50. I got a very attractive girl. He drove me to her appartment in Copacabana so there was no hotel charge. This was a great experience all in. Rossine is a good guy. He speaks only a little English but even if you have basic Portugese I would call him.
4. Copacana solo
On another night I went back to Copacabana and got a taxi - but not with Rossine on this occasion to a bar called The Balcony around half along the Copacabana beach stretch. It has a tent outside and is populated by female prostitutes. I was interested in some pussy action. However, I counted around 6 trannies who were present. They were not seeking out business unlike the girls who were upfront. Ass pinching, balls squeezed etc There was a police car outside strangely so one felt at ease. I chatted to a few of the transexals outside for the laugh. Recognised a few of the girls from porn flicks. The going rate was for between 100-200 reais for 3 hours apparently and the nearby hotel 50 reais. In the end I went for a tall 5ft 11 inches natural black type. She quoted me 100 Brazilian reais all in / completa, so I went for it. I paid her upfront once we got to the hotel to get that out of the way. We got down to action. Spent around 30 minutes and came by giving myself a hand job. Not good. Got dressed and went to leave the room.
With that the tranny suddenly locked the hotel door and put her foot over it. She demanded extra cash or so I believe because I had sucked her, - not off by the way. I couldn't understand how much she was looking so I tried to communicate with her. She was getting excited and raising her voice saying what I think was policy or polica or something to that effect. I tried to open the lock of the door and a struggle ensued. I manged to unlock it but then she grabbed me by the shirt and would not let go. It was getting serious at this stage.
I'm 6ft 2inches, 15 stone and can handle myself. Even so s/he was very strong and ripped my shirt. She was shooting a name at that stage, which I reckoned was her pimp and tried to call him. I grabbed the phone out of her hand. I turned and went to run down. She kicked out at me and I fell forward onto the stairs. My fall was broken by a balcony 4 steps down thankfully. I just rang out of the place for my life but shooted at the doorman and receptionist as I left that she was crazy. I imagine they have seen this all before. I was lucky because I just got out as they were about to come up the stairs. Who knows what might have happened if I they had come 2 seconds earlier. I rang down 2 blocks and hailed a yellow taxi. As I looked back down from where I had ran from I saw what I think was her returning probably back to the same club maybe to get her pimp.
So thats my account. A mixed experience I'm sure you'll agree. Without Portuguse it is hard. I called a few of them via mobile but it was difficult. Unless you are prepared to meet them at your hotel the better looking girls will remain out of reach. I never made it to Sao Paulo so cant talk about it. However, there are a lot more in that city from what I've seen on Banana trans site and the one I quoted at the outset.
All in all I would conclude that Thailand is a much more pleasant to pick up transexuals. It is safer in my experience, cheaper, less expensive more straightfoward and language communication is far less of a hassle.
As for looks, well beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer Thais. The Brazilians insist on covered blowjobs which was a downer for me personally. I never shagged any.
