At Anaconda one night i went to pay my bar bill. The tab was in dispute...

But in this instance i was trying to actually pay for drinks that were missing from my tab!

Fuck me... do you think it was easy to actually make them understand they had missed a drink or two and i owed them a little more.

Try paying for more drinks than on your tab and see how confused these poor staff get

I remember doing that one night in the Guess Bar when Jay was in charge.

After I had asked her for my check-bin to my surprise it was no way near as much as I was expecting.

I explained to Jay that there were certainly drinks missing from my
tab and told her exactly what they were.

Like Dixon Cox I had been in rounds so maybe one or two tabs had gone elsewhere and after a little investigation it was sorted, I passed over Jay a further 1000baht and she was very grateful for my honesty.

Of course it would have been quite easy to have just walked out, but "for what"

Without wishing to post the entire episode of "war & peace"- the summary I have had from the (non drinking) cashiers is that the said customer was pissed and overlooked he ordered (and drunk) two Heineken from two different service staff.

He assumed, he had one and paid for that. When the difference was noticed by the cashiers, the service team set off to catch up with him and clear the remaining bill.

The customer started become very vocal and raising his voice using words such as Cunts, Fuckers and so on. The staff played this down and did not give him a good kicking.

This scene continued inside the bar, where said customer, still rat-arsed berated all and sundry including an owner of the bar. The words "you fuckin, cheating cunt" were heard many times. the entire service team surrounded the customer ready to physically remove him if the situation worsened.

Note: if I had been there and he said that to me, I would have personally kicked his arse straight out of the bar. Disputes are all well and good - but retaining your civility is the key.

The staff in the bar remained calm and no doubt matched his words with their own. He was not beaten up nor physically removed. That is how this bar handles things. The customer settled his (genuine) outstanding bill and left with no further drama. He also returned the following night and apologised for his behaviour and stated to one of the bar owners that he had indeed drunk 2 beers. Enough said I suspect.

I have met DC a few times an drank with him a couple of times. Once from early evening till around 7am. His persona when drinking is one of a happy and funny drunk with a great sense of humour and not a larger lout as the LBS described him

Joy is at home at the moment - she is looking after mum who apparently is very ill. She keeps saying she is coming back but has not materialised back so far. Having said that, nobody is pushing her to rush back as there are 4 other service girls at the moment and the bar is not exactly packed out every night at this time of year.
