FIRST TRIP ADVICE/INFORMATION. ?
keep it simple, where to get taxi, where to stay , how much to pay short time, etc........
after their first trip, they can try other hotels etc.....
i mean, i wouldnt want to sift through every thread and hoffs one liners to find out how to get from BKK to NEP, BF an LB from GB for a ST, back at the DIG.

I think that's an excellent suggestion Anthony.
One thing i'd add to the "First Trip Advice", which you describe as a summary of salient "must-knows" for a first-timer, is some commentary on the benefit of getting acquainted with a BM, perhaps by PM, who is willing to act as a first-time drinking partner and guide.
Probably, the fear of strangers, especially kinkos like us who like LB's, may prevent the first-timer from reaching out. It can be a bit lonely and intimidating out there.....just wandering into NEP or Patts. Discovering that the BM's are just like any other guy they'd meet while out partying, non-threatening and wanting to have fun, can go a long way in setting the stage for a good time.
I was fortunate to meet Batman my first night visiting the darkside, and his friendship and advice have proven invaluable.

you know I have never once paid a joiners fee...
On my first trip i paid 1,000Bt every single bloody night (Evason, Pattaya), because i made the newbie mistake of not checking when i booked my accomodation!

which of these hotels are even charging joiners fees? Are you all staying at the Mariot or something.
I think ive grown to like the Sawasdee chain hotels. Never got hit with a joiners fee. Paid for it all upfront when i book the hotel online. they have these specials where you pay for 4 and get 5 nights. etc.
air conditioner, mini bar, room service (at Sea View this super cute ladyboy who works in the cafe downstairs will even bring it up to you I hate putting clothes on afterwards. a simple towel usually does the trick. ) its got everything u need really. and its right there on soi 10 @ the walking street.
Dont stay at their hotels on Kaosan Road in BKK tho. Absolutely deplorable. its clear theyre channeling all their funds into the Pattaya hotels.
At the bigger Siam Sawatdee hotel I counted 3 LB's working there. One of them was kinda in androgeny mode. looked like she was on her path so to speak. two noticable bumps and light make up.
I forgot her name.
Really nice tho.

Depending of course on how long you are planning to be in Thailand you might want to spend a few days in BKK and then head for Pattaya.
Look in the Trip Report section for ideas about where to go to.
Also send several hours reading through the trip reports and you will get an idea of all the fun to be had and the places to have it.

I agree that getting lucky enough to meet an experienced BM for a drink goes a long way. On my first trip I meet up with Kahuna in BKK and the few hours I spent drinking with him really went along way in relieving my anxioty. It set the stage for a very positive trip which ofcourse lead to more trips. I did however also spend hours combing through the forum and asking questions before I left. It had been many years since I had traveled alone and it was my first trip to Asia. I was a little nervous.
No doubt this forum is great and has many really nice members.

Marriotts never charge a fee, Hiltons do though. The nice thing about Marriott is that they take the lady's ID anf return it to her when she leaves. Kind of protects you from scam artists.
