Sorry to put a downer on things, but those XE rates are very misleading, the rate today with my bank (Kasikorn) was 46.821bht to the pound - and they usually offer amongsth the best rate when in town - I daren't look at what the UK banks are offering..

It's been hovering between 45-47 for just about the last fortnight. It's still looking very grim.

It doens't seem so long ago it was around 55 and we were trying to will it back towards 60!

If you are exchanging cash in Pattaya, there is a non bank moneychanger on 2nd Road between Soi 16 and Soi VC but closer to Soi 16 on the side of the street away from the beach.

It looks like an art gallery but is a licensed moneychanger.

Another good place for exchanging Cash, is in Rungland opposite the Telephone Exchange on South Pattaya Road.
Walk about twenty metres into Rungland and it is on your left, has a large Red Sign simply saying, Bank Gold.

Usually slightly higher rate than the best of the currency exchange booths on the day.

There is an independent exchange place, with slightly better rates, on Soi LK Metro directly across the soi from Champagne A GoGo.

And to complete your map..

There are two good independant exchane booths on 2nd road, one almost next to Mike Shopping (the one close to Pattaya Tai, not the big Mike Shopping Mall). The other is almost opposite Mike Shopping (yellow booth). Both tend to beat the bank rates by few 0.1 of a baht.

To be picky, the Mike close to Pattaya Tai is Mike Plaza and the big one between Soi 10 and 11 is Mike Shopping Mall (couldn't spot the exchange booth on 2nd Road).
