Hi everyone

I´m just back from my first trip to Phuket, and want to share some impressions from C&D ...

Now, this is just a first try. Please tell me if pic size/quality is appropriate, good (or too big?)

The forum will automatically downsize your photos to 800x600 - but sometimes that may not be as sharp as you would like if you reduce the size on your own.

Nice photos, but they would be even better if you rotated them to the proper orientation before uploading.

It is very nice of you. :D

You took the pictures with a Samsung ST60. The size 1024x768 is OK since you have a 4/3 chip in the camera. The resolution of 480 is too coarse. Did you take the pictures with a smooth L resolution or a coarse M? It is worth to buy a 16MB SDHC card for 30 euros, which gives you some 2800 shots on a single card even for a smooth L resolution.

You need to rotate the pictures you took in portrait mode before submitting them.

Keep posting your pictures.

well, I did a lot of reading here and on other forums for preparing my trip, so this is just a way of giving something back
:tada:

Huh, here´s the expert!
I do not have much experience, actually these are my first pics with the Samsung. I experimented a little with the settings, but with no convincing results, so I usually just went on "smart mode". And I was quite pleased by the print-outs I made.

How do you change the resolution?
As for size, I had it on 3264x2448 (8m), instead of the maximum 4000x3000 (12m).

So, here´s another go, same night ...

How do you change the resolution?

In Shooting mode, press Menu, the first row indicates the resolution, use the navigation buttons to scroll to a desired option or menu, press OK to confirm, press Menu to go back.

As for size, I had it on 3264x2448 (8m), instead of the maximum 4000x3000 (12m).

12m is definitely better. Did you have it on Super Fine or only on Fine?

This second set of pictures is OK. You did a very good job by going closer to the girls. Nam, Peng, Nicole, and Oh look very good in the photos.

Thanks for sharing. Keep posting them.

I did experiment with the menu. What I did not understand was how to change the res. from "only" 480, the value you referred to.
I guess it comes with the main resolution?

It was meant to be on SF, but I am not sure whether this also works on Smart Mode.
I changed to 8m, as I read somewhere that if it´s not an expensive camera it will often be better not to go for max. resolution. This may be wrong, but on my initial testing I didn´t notice much difference between 8m and 12m.

The Samsung definitely works best on portraits. As for cabaret (movement!) it was quite difficult to get a good shot.
