I know the past 10 weeks' problems in BKK have really put a damper on travel now, and in the coming month. I just hope that most people will realize that the problem has not been apparent here in Phuket. Don't be afraid to come to Phuket, even if you want to bypass Bangkok to get here! Life is good here, and you are all welcome!

I agree.....I recommend flying in and out of Singapore, then take a cheap AirAsia or Tiger Air flight to/from Phuket....

BE - certainly my approach. I have taken Singapore connection for trip next month rather than cheaper Bangkok connection, just as "insurance" ... so if Red Shirts go crazy and try to get BKK airport, won't affect my trip

Hmmm..now when it seems the granade smoke have gone down,atleast for a while..I wonder..who wants my hard earned bahts..Pattaya or Phuket?
The fucking tuk-tuk bandits in good old Patong always pisses me off BIG time..& all non thais working there too,Pakistanis,Nepalese etc..just the dirt of the earth! On the other hand..I havent visted Pattaya a.k.a Sin City since 1997..yeah,thats right..I somehow managed to not go there..silly I guess & a BIG shame on me..
