Busari elite pool access at 25k per night is the same price as 8 days in the Jacuzzi suit at Baithong - and I can't see all that much of a difference apart from Baithong has bigger beds and the pool is across the road...and you won't exactly bump into families with kids at Baithong.

Good points. Also Baithong has a nive vibe to it. All rooms have balcony?

This is cute: http://www.laflorapa..._tour/index.htm

Not exactly a balcony but the room I had a Thai style bench and table next to a big window over looking the street. Never actually even saw any of the other guests when I was there.

Highly recommend the place and I'll be going back in Feb.

Nice. Jacuzzi room does sound v.tempting.

How about the pool? Its across the street? Is there a fitness close by? (Phuket Gold Gym will be quite a walk from there...)

So, I dont do breakfast. In the morning I like a nice glass of OJ and cup of coffee enjoyed privately in my room with a smoke or two preferably on balcony type set up. Is this possible?

Have you stayed both at Baipho and Baithong?

Thanks for taking the time to answer Q's

They're owned by the same guy and his wife - he has 4-5 Thai girls running the places for him and they also have a v.good cook - an old Thai lady - on duty.

Downstairs where the bar/cafe is is open onto the street with rattan sofa's - I never checked on room service I just had coffee, fresh fruit and toast downstairs and read my book for a while.

The pool is across the street in one of the hotels - very quiet - with sun loungers, umbrella's etc.

There is a laundry at the street entrance that does laundry for 10 Baht a piece and there are lots of restaurants and bars around on the main street. There is no gym- it's what's called a hometel - a hotel that feels like a home and it does that very well.

I think he's going to do a third next year also opp Christins.

Sounds v.good. I like the home-boutique-designer type vibe. Gym is fine, Phuket Gold is nicely located, few 100B I recall for week pass. Definately on my list to consider, thanks! Is the owner foreigner?

Ran across this one today : http://www.burasari.com

Burasari's a bit upmarket, pretty sure there's a hefty joiner fee there :redcard:

Hmmm. Not good. :tantrum: Anyone any information on this? I guess not the type of hotel you would get if you were to butterfly anyway...

But eh, if I book for 2 persons and just have 1 LB accompany me for the time I guess that is different... is it? :?: Did that last time, when I checked in I mentioned my GF would join me later in the eve, and worked out fine, no joiner fee, although I did have to remind them when she checked in her ID that I booked for 2 persons so I wouldnt expect to be charged for her stay.

In THEORY so long as you have booked a double room in advance for 2 people you should be OK. They may require the name at the time of the original booking though. Without sounding snobbish the more upmarket hotels are really trying to get away from the P4P scene and seem to make that sort of customer uncomfortable. There are plenty of other guesthouse/hotels available a a more ensible price so cast your net a bit further would be my advice. As with expensive restaurants fancy hotels are wasted on the ladies , who feel uncomfortable and out of their depth on occasion. By all means splash out but your money can be better spent

I agree. I think I made the same comment above. :D I guess it may be different when it regards a lady instead of ladies, i.o.w. your girlfriend, what is your experience here? :D

Just dropped an e-mail with a bulk of questions. Do really like the look and feel of the Baithong place. On one of the pics I saw a fan as aircon, don't they have 'normal' airconditioning (sorry dont know the english word). How far a walk to Bangla? And Tootsies? And the (importnant to me) is there a gym close by? Does the bathroom have an ass douche? Couldnt find any info on the rates per room (I like the XXL room), any idea? Soz lots of questions, finally getting around to booking, be staying 3-4 weeks.

The rooms have aircon, 10 min stroll to Bangla, about the same to Tootsie's, don't know about the gym am sure you can find one on the web and the hotel is pretty central so shouldn't be a problem, ass spray - my room had one, rates out of season about 1200 and in season 2,000 - stay 7 nights 8th night free, payable in cash on arrival.

Here are some reviews.

Here are some details of gyms.

Book a week and if you don't like it move somewhere else - easy to do...
