I am a veteran of several great trips to LOS and Phils. I love Asia,..but on my bucket list is a trip to Rio.

The good news is that the flights from Canada to Rio are under a $1000 :-)

That leaves me lots of budget left over for other pleasures :twisted:

I will be renting a small apartment in Copacabana and staying 1 month entirely in Rio. Oct/ Nov 2009 will be there.

YES, I searched and read the previous threads on Rio travesti hunting and thought I would ask if there was any new information out there?

I am dismayed to find that there aren't any bars in Copa/ Ipanema where the travesti congregate. escort sites seem impersonal and not really my first choice.

any opinions or helpful advice?

What I know about the Brazil scene could be written on the back of a postage stamp.

But, didn't I hear that Sao Paulo was THE place for travesti?

I have read some of the same opinion. I have heard from a personal friend (who had visited) that it is a featureless, grim city with little to recommend it.

Well Tarado, I have not looked into the benefits of going to Sao Paulo vs Rio, other than travestis. However, if you look at the Brazilian travestis escort sites, and there are quite a few, I'd say that the number of Sao Paulo transexuals is at least 4 times the number in Rio. Then again, Rio definitely has the beaches & is probably much more tourist oriented.

But, if you surf those sites carefully, looking at the girls' profiles that interest you, you'll find a number of them mentioning which clubs they like to go to.

However, unless you speak Portuguese, picking them up in the clubs, or even getting the escorts to your hotel, is going to be a challenge for you I think.

Armed with my Pimsleur I am studying to equip myself with rudimentary Braz Port. A big smile and a good attitude should handle most negotiations.

Travestis are a minor (but important) part of the trip.

I would say Rio is better as there is more to do in the daytime than sp ie beach, sugar loaf, christo statue.

Ipanema and Leblon round the corner is a nicer beach to hang out during the day.

Help club is the place for GG freelancers all packed into a normal club, along that road which is called avienda atlantica towards the end you get some travestis late on, when you drive past in a taxi they might flash you. Lapa is the main area and its street scene need to take a taxi.

Choatic fun all round, much more soul, impulsiveness and passion than you will get in Asia but maybe not for everyone.

Hi Tarado

As I write this I'm in the happy position of being just 6 days away from beginning my 2 weeks in LOS - what a great prospect.

But I have to admit that earlier today I started making moves to be in Brasil next February/March. Both places are great and they're quite different - and variety is the spice of life.

That 'variety' means that I'll be splitting my Brasil time between Rio for GGs and Sao Paulo for shemales. That's what I learned from my last trip and although Sao Paulo is the big city without the charm of Rio and Copa, it's where the top shemales seem to be.

Anyway, that's next year - lots of fun in LOS first.
