I was in Kerch (Crimea) for a while some years ago and while out drinking with a family at their beach house for the weekend was told "Phil you drink like Russian", I thought that must have been a compliment..... Later I found out that it wasn't such a good thing but hell I enjoyed myself, skinny dipping in a phosphorescent sea with the girls and shooting road signs with the guys 9mm, excellent fun.

An interesting thread..............why drink so much and get drunk while on holiday....................

Everyone is different and we all have a multitude of reasons why we do............I work in a booze free country (though we make our own) so as I enjoy a whisky I get suitably imbibed while on my time off.............

My close friend works in a dangerous job in a dangerous country.......with no drink...so when he arrives.....guess what happens...........

Other guys from different backgrounds come with 9 months of puting up with the normal shit and feel a great release when they arrive and the need to party..........

In saying all this, the BM's I've met are in control and enjoying themselves..................I never go to far even though I go at it fairly hard and only on the odd occasion have I actually felt bladdered and when that moment arrives its the taxi for me.....

I think my recollection on the trip reports back this up........

Mind you....I went to Hua Hin last year and hardly drank at all.....so who knows....... sometimes it's the company we keep...

Absolutely not old bean...........sat here in my house in Ireland with a large 25 year old Glenmorangie on the go watching late night TV........ :wink:
