Break up plain appeances after sealing, use some taffia matting and a few pots with interesting plants which if you choose real carefully, can also live indoors during the chillier months......... :wink:

Well I gave up on the decking............. and just put some gravel down, a nice palm tree and hedging...........looks rather fetching but I've got my Bermuda recliners that need a reasonable coat of something for the winter........... :wink:

the thing to watch with decking ,
is expansion.
ended up taking mine up and moving the boards closer to each other.
you see, it is treated before purchase, and shrinks as i dries out.

Although if you buy original oakwood,and lay it during the winter months, covering it with carpet felt for protection, this will nulify any chance of the wood expanding. Thus when you go to treat it during the better weather, you will have a perfect,gap free surface to enjoy for many years to come.
