Those pics came out really clear and sharp KK, I was curious to see how different they look on the web compared to when I saw some of them on the monitor.

While we are on the subject of cameras KK, since the G10 is too large to fit in an average pocket, do you carry it around your neck--a la Japanese tourists--or in a case.

I say that because taking the volume of pics you seem to take requires the camera to be shooting ready at all times.

Hi Pampamsam,

The G10 is certainly a little bulkier than your average compact camera, but it's not too much of a burden to carry around with you. I bought myself a basic zip up case with a shoulder strap, and that seems to do the trick. I try to avoid the Japanese tourist look.

It doesn't take long to open the zip & 'whip it out' when required ! :D

Cheers

KK.....the camera is in the eye of the beerholder...... and your shots are superb and do the subject and the situation sufficient justice........

Thanks for the feedback Petesie.

Hopefully we'll be seeing some of your handy work via the forum over the weeks ahead.

Nice to hear that BB, although I'm going to make a point of learning some basic photography before my next trip, because I really have no idea what I'm doing.

Really keen to extract the maximum performance from this camera, before I consider another upgrade.

Enough technical talk, and some more ladyboys....

The night ended back at Char Nee Bar, where I was once again mesmerised by the beauty that is Eve.

Yep, it's "All about Eve".....sounds like a nice title for a movie.

After another delightful Japanese meal, I headed to Soi 6 for a few cold ones at So What Bar.

Took a few quick pictures of Fah, however it was virtually 'pitch black' in the bar, and the photos really don't do her justice.

I did run into her again later in the trip, and she was looking very hot !

I tried to improve these shots with Picasa, but not sure of the result. :(

OH MY GOD!

oh my god...

omg...

THAT IS SO HOOOOOOOT

kk, your pics are excellent.
but, is there is no way of getting pics of your quality without something large in a case around the neck.?

Prior to switching to the Canon G10, I was using the Can IXUS 850is, which is a nice compact camera.
Infact, there are a host of cameras in the IXUS range, and they all seem to do a good job IMHO.

Here's a shot taken with the IXUS 850is, which serves three purposes.

1. To give you some idea of the photo quality from the camera.

2. To keep Waltz happy, as he seemed to be taken by Fah when she appeared earlier in the report.

3. As a segway to my next adventure which involves someone in the background of the photo, and I can assure you it ain't the farang on the right !

KK's trip report is at risk of being detoured by camera talk, there is a good thread discussing that subject here: Digital Camera Suggestions

Any further discussions should be posted there, and we can enjoy the rest of KK's excellent report.

Thanks Rxpharm for your sensible suggestion regarding the camera talk. :D

Headed back to Central Festival to sample yet another of the myriad of Japanese restaurants within the complex. With my daily helpings of Asahi beer and Wagyu beef, I had to remind myself I was actually in Thailand not Tokyo. 8)

After eating, I felt the desire for some cheap & dirty short time action, the type you're likely to stumble upon in Pattaya's notorius Soi 6.

Jumped on a Baht bus for the brief ride, and soon found myself in So What Bar.

It's fairly standard for me to visit Soi 6 most afternoons whilst in Pattaya, but often I'm simply happy to have a couple of beers or play some pool.

Today however, I wanted some action, so when I spotted Sunny in the bar, I immediately wandered over and was soon climbing those steep stairs to the short time rooms above.

Sunny days are here again....... :D

WOW Sunny looks big on outer look and on the package that she packed
Does anyone know what a Jimmy Cagney love scene is? It's when Cagney lets the good guy live. And if that happens in this show, I will do a lot more than ask for my money back.
