Hope you are fully recovered from your sickness (medically speaking  ) and back in full swing.

Don't worry about missing Pattaya, it will all still be the same when you have the opportunity to return.

Cheers

Yes KK, I'm back in the saddle again, so to speak, and have been since Saturday night. 8) Just have this never ending cough. :?

Of course, if I wasn't out drinking every night, and stopped smoking when I was drinking, it might have cleared up faster! :P

I'm just going to go back to BKK tomorrow night, have a last night there before flying home Thursday morning

I'm looking at buying a Sony DSC W120, they have it for sale here for 8000 baht. Any thoughts??

Day 9

Awoke around midday with the lovely Peaw beside me, and after a nice wake up session, phoned room service and ordered some Thai food to start the day. Peaw eventually departed, so I decided to go for a walk along Soi Buakow, passing the market, and eventually ending up at the Tops Supermarket on the corner of Central Pattaya & 2nd Roads.

Jumped on a Baht Bus to Soi 3, and wandered into Phaingarn Massage for an hour and a half of oil massage with an older lady. The massage was pleasant enough, and included a happy ending. The cost of the massage was 400 Baht, and I gave the lady a 200 Baht tip. As I went to exit, they offered me a free banana and a bottle of water which I politely declined, indicating in my best spoken Thai that I was not a monkey!

Wandered back to Soi 6 and had a drink with TaTa at the Red Light Bar, followed by a couple more with Hansi at So What Bar.

Whilst wandering down Soi 6, I bumped into an Australian guy I’d met a couple of nights before in Lita’s Bar. We sat ourselves down at Pooks Bar, and he showed me his bruises, while he explained how he’d been beaten up by Barbie/Bee/Sandy the previous evening after having a drink with her in Jenny Star Bar.

Whilst seated at Pooks Bar, had a call from Lucky A who had literally just arrived in Pattaya. A few moments later he had made his way to Soi 6, and joined us for a drink. After a few more drinks, Lucky A and I settled the bill and jumped in a songtaew to La Bamba in Soi 13/1.

Day 9 cont...

Ordered my standard Bombay Sapphire Gin & Tonic at La Bamba, and Alis organized fried rice with seafood to be delivered for Lucky A and myself.

Whilst at La Bamba on this particular night, a young, handsome Russian guy negotiated a short time with the lovely Cindy. Having paid the barfine, he headed upstairs to partake. A short time later, a somewhat distressed Russian returned to the bar, demanding to see Mamasan Alis. Apparently he was unaware that Cindy was a ladyboy, and wanted a refund. Not wanting any problems, Alis complied with his request and he went on his merry way.

Incidentally, Alis seems to be doing a great job at La Bamba of late, and has certainly had to stepped up to the plate with the departure of the cashier and her barman boyfriend.

Rossco soon arrived at La Bamba, and a little later Slappy entered the bar with the beautiful Jen.

Was nice to finally meet Slappy, who seemed to be very content with Jen by his side!

Day 9 cont...

Having started my drinking fairly early in the day, I was starting to feel pretty worn out and in need of sleep. A few times whilst in La Bamba, relative newcomer, May had been giving me a nice little massage, and feeling rather rundown, thought she may be a nice choice to take care of me for the evening, so paid her bar, settled the bill, and wandered back towards the LK Renaissance.

Whilst I was aware that May was new to the game, I probably didn’t appreciate how foreign the entire routine was to her until we were back in the room, and I sent her to the bathroom for a shower. After what seemed like an eternity, she returns to the bedroom fully clothed, and when I entered the bathroom myself, found that she’d folded up the wet towel she’d used to dry herself. In the end I just rolled over and went to sleep, as I couldn’t be bothered even attempting anything.

I’d honestly be surprised whether she’s been with more than 3 or 4 customers since she joined the bar. When it was time for her to leave, I still paid her what I believed was fair, and based on her reaction, she seemed happy enough. In summary, she’s a really sweet, lovely girl, but still has lots to learn. I’m sure plenty of other mongers wouldn’t be as understanding or accommodating if they’d paid the barfine and taken her home, expecting a wild night of passion.

Day 10

Had a call from Jenny around 10am in the morning whilst still in bed with May, which was a bit of a surprise, as the last text message she sent me after our first meet up pretty much told said she couldn’t see me again, and not to contact her. It seemed that Jenny still wanted to catch up before she returned to Laos again after all, and told me she would get in touch soon.

Headed out around 3pm to get something to eat at Villa market, which has quickly became my regular food joint for a simple meal during the day. A plate of fried rice with chicken and some stir fried mixed vegetables went down a treat.

Came back to the room and had a pretty low key day, catching up on e-mails and internet activities, finally venturing out around 6:30 pm with the intention of having a quick drink or two before dinner. As I stepped out of the LK Renaissance, I was spotted by Tata and Badpress (Ciobha) who were seated at New Orn Bar. Wandered over to say hello, and promptly joined them for a couple of beers.

Tata and Badpress excused themselves, and I wandered up to The Avenue where I’d arranged to meet with Rossco & Lucky A, for dinner at Shenanigans. Being a Tuesday night, it was only fitting to order the day's special of chicken or beef fajitas. Apart from dropping some of the fajita on my clean white shirt, the meal was very nice indeed.

After dinner, needed to visit a photo shop to pick up some photo prints I ordered for a few select ladyboys who’d made special requests. Popped back to the hotel to change my shirt then caught up with Rossco & Lucky A again at La Bamba. Deuce was also at the bar, and after a number of drinks, we all headed to Walking Street.

Day 10 cont...

First stop was Jenny Star Bar where I caught up with Jenny herself as well as Fon, Moo, Kwang, Sonya and others. Left Jenny Star Bar, and wandered over to Lita’s Bar where Lita’s birthday celebrations were in full swing.

Plenty of the usual “suspects” about including board members Slappy, Mitch Crimson and Russ07 who’d since forgotten all about Jay from Guess Bar, and was fast at work with the lovely Noon, who is looking better than ever.

Wanted to catch up with Karl, but he wasn’t on deck when I popped my head into Ezy Bar, so instead decided to investigate Walking Street, taking a wander past Linda Bar till there was virtually no more shops and bars . From there, I turned back, and walked to Beach Rd, eventually returning on foot to La Bamba Bar feeling a little hot and sweaty.

After downing a gin & tonic at La Bamba, I walked back towards my hotel, nearly being ‘collected’ whilst crossing Pattaya 2nd Road, by a motorbike travelling in the wrong direction. Stopped at New Orn Bar for one last drink, before retiring for the evening alone, desperately in need of a good sleep.

Nice photo of the "new" Walking Street sign, but I sort of miss the nostalgia of the old "neon" one.

The photo array keeps getting better and better too.

This TR has been (and will likely continue to be ) a great read!

Cheers.

That damm sign was quite a shock I'd been in town two weeks before and it wasnt there, they werent even working on it.. then voila it appears as if by magic, and I have to agree with you Auto I much preferred the old sign the new just seems out of place.

The old Arch made you think of entering a whole new and strange world !! :D

Great trip report KK,

The new Walking Street sign sucks but your trip report is number 1.

I think the old arch was like an entrance to a Disneyesque park.

KK your report is stunning and full of great information - as usual.

Good to meet up again.
