Later that day I took a prearranged Taxi back to Manila to my mates place . The driver had identified himself as working for the Phillipines Tourist Board so I felt really comfortable with him . He spoke good English and told me quite a bit about Clark Air Base and the erruption .
When we got to Manila I gave him the 2500 pesos that I was quoted the previous day he said it was 2800 , so I paid up feeling disgusted with this so called official .
Later that night I got dropped off at the airport and went to check in , I handed in my passport and itinary and they asked for my ticket ! Ticket ? I have not seen one in the last two years of international travel (four trips) and have not seen one at home for at least 8 years so I was confused . They had my booking on the flight and my passport but they wanted a slip of paper before I was allowed on the plane . I nearly lost the plot with them but just wanted to get the fuck out of this lousy fecking place so handed over my credit card and paid a second time for my flight ( that reminds me I have to chase up the refund for the first ticket).
You are not allowed to take local currency out of the country so I did not have much cash left on me and would have needed a loan from my mate if I did'nt have the credit card.

It was with great relief that I touched down in Bangkok and got to witness the spectacle of all the street walkers once we left the motorway in the taxi . I mentioned it to the driver and he asked if I wanted to stop and pick one up  I declined as I just wanted to get into the Dynasty Inn to shower and relax . However I had hardly gotten my car door open when a freelancer jumped in to help me and offered her services , :D I realised that it was just past 2am and I was witnessing the closing of Nana Plaza .
My whole mood lifted as I felt so relaxed but badly needed some sleep and knew I would make up for any lost time over the next five nights in Bangkok and then 10 days in Pattaya .

The Ladyboys are coming tomorrow :D   :P

Same for me too Phil

One or two nice looking girls in the Philippines and good to get an up-to-date view of the place,
but glad 'we' are in LOS now.

Great trip report so far, very detailed, and the work and effort you're putting in clear.

Keep it coming 8)

what hotel did you stay in a.c ? I agree about manila being a sh$%t hole , but the girls do give you a real girlfriend experience , as far as ladyboys goes there are a few walking around blow row as they call it there but none are very attractive , and in a.c there is not anything to do during the day time hours .

Think the real difference is the lack of bar scene in Phils compared to Thailand, even though there are many and I think better girls.

Key is to find someone there first, but may be difficult if you want to butterfly, unless she says ok for a few days before letting you free. Having the girl in the cab you never pay over the odds, same in other places, you just let her do all the arranging. Also, places like Manila and Cebu are large and scary, find a girl and she can be friend and guide and take you best places; there are I think 5 starbucks in Greenbelt there one in each section etc. Its a different scene from Thailand so expect difference. Many girls on cam shows are in Angeles or Manila and open to dates and you can see what they got too before you go. But Cebu is maybe best place, Ayala Mall in the evenings, different girl every night but they like to cling once they get you. I think Phils is more expensive than Thailand but they speak English and you are never far away from lovely beaches and diving which I like. Question is, do best of Philippines leave for Singapore, Hong Kong, and do they ever go to Thailand? How could you meet a Filipina in Thailand -mm maybe if they go for surgery?

I was staying with my mate in Manila which was half the problem , I could'nt take anyone back some nights as there were kids or girlfriends staying there . A hotel has much better access to information and you can do what you want.

In A.C I was staying in the Welcome Inn with 24 hour Gogo under my room . It was basic but suitable for the task.
I could'nt get into the Orchid Inn ( I think it was called) as it was New Years day when I arrived . I tried a few others with no luck.
I did'nt find much to do there and was glad I was only there for three days . I noticed lots of guys drunk at any hour of the day or night as some places went 24 hours.
I noticed a sign for a Pool Party on my last day and was wondering if this was the place where you often see photos of on the net.

I love P.I girls but I felt that the whole setup was uncomfortable and have had much better experiences in Thailand . Including the best GFE experience I have ever had but that tale I will leave till later.

Cheers dude that pool party looks like a lot of fun wish I could have made it there.

The more I think about the good bits the better I feel about it . :)
but wonder if it would sway me from going to Thailand instead .

Saw my travel agent today about the ticket , she was really surprised that they would not let me board and is finding out whether I can get a refund . She did'nt know about me needing a ticket either. :?

that pics with graves are certainly upsetting.

I hope I'm not misinterpretting what I read but I believe that the graves were symbolic as on the display boards they were only a few bodies actually recovered to rebury.

I feel that there is more to touring than just having sex with LB's or GG's for that matter so am trying to add a few things of interest which others may enjoy seeing.

Day 13 woke up and opened the curtains to my room , and was pleased that I was in the right place. :D
I then went outside and finally got to see Nana plaza in all its gory detail  but I would have to wait till later to see it in action.
I went to MBK by Sky train which was easy to work out how to use and pretended I was a seasoned veteran to help some nice Japanese chicks how to use it :D I looked at some cellphones but decided that I could'nt be bothered as there were so many stalls and shopping did'nt really interest me. I did regret not buying a second phone later on as I switched to a Thai Sim card but that meant I was out of contact to everybody at home.
