You guys are so out of touch! Tony Merollo is the greatest Guitarist possibly followed by Kirk Hammet of Metallica and the good one from the Allman Brothers (Dwane?).

I shall be heading to Litas next months, looks like I might have to bring ipod and headphone

Hey Kilome:

Actually, we're not out of touch, but rather focused on our ongoing friendly debate about the great english guitarists of the time. Certainly there are some amazing contemporary players, but we were concentrating on those from another time.

No argument from me about Tom Morello, he certainly rocks, as does Kirk Hammet (although not my particular favorite style), and Duane Allman/Dickey Bettes.

A few of my personal contemporary faves are:

Vernon Reid, Mike Stern, Steve Morse, Derek Trucks and Gary Moore.

Auto

I'm only messing with you, I'm more out of touch musically than you guys. The only two CDs in my car at the moment are Journey and Foreigner, not exactly cuttng edge.

In the past I've spent a fair few nights in Tahitian Queen and Angelwitch, wishing there were a few LBs on the poles, so I'm keen to finally have a few beers at Litas. Seriously, nothing can beat the sounds of AC/DC when you're in an agogo.

Karl, have you heard Black Stone Cherry? If not they should be added to the playlist!

Hi Stonefre,

I had Tommy Bolin requested last night :D
I could have played a few tracks when he helped out Deep Purple BUT prefered to play a few of his own :P

I'll play some Black Stone Cherry for you Kilome my pleasure :D
They're already in my collection and as you say a good sounding band if your a hard rock fan :D

Personally i prefer the cds in your car Perry & Gramm two of my all time favourite vocalists :)

AND more inportantly a few photo's of the girlz getting down to some Gary Moore & Albert Lee :P

Best wishes,

Karl.

I like your taste in music Karl. I'm an older guy who saw some of the best in concert in the 60's and 70's. I'm also into Blues and some Jazz. As a matter of fact in my opinion one of the best examples of Tommy Bolin's talent was on a Jazz album by Billy Cobham called "Spectrum". I was in Lita's in September but I don't remember seeing you. I'll be back in mid January. Hope to meet you then.
