For your first trip to the Land of Smiles, I would suggest checking in to the Nana Hotel on soi 4 in Bangkok, first . Sample the bars in Nana and Soi cowboy. Check out the massage opportunities and the street life, check out PatPong. . After five days head to Pattaya. Check into the Dynasty Inn on soi 13. You've got walking street, beach road , Naglua, bars on second road, massage, so many venues... why look elsewhere?
BTW, Phuket is now useless. It's expensive, the bar scene is dead, and way too much negative headlines about safety.
For such a short trip such as yours , Bangkok and Pattaya, period .

Gone and torn down by landlord as a new development takes place in that area.
