So, how can I start this..........  I have never had an interest in Ladyboys, UNTIL, I had my first trip to Thai Land in December 2016. And wow! What an eye opener! Lets say I had my first experience with a Ladyboy! I must admit, it was very, very weird at first! How can a sexy looking woman have balls and a cock lol? Anyway I must admit i got a bit addicted, the more I went with the better and more comfortable it got. I have been wanting to post this since December last year, but hey, I was a bit shy I must admit, this is a new thing for me! Booking an escort from a service or from a bar will be more expensive, but it might be safer in terms of avoiding petty theft because it will be so much easier to track them down should something turn up missing.

In terms of STDs I would say no difference. The fact that you ask such a question about STDs tells me that you need to read up on it a bit more.

Do some Googling and read about STD transmission risks and infection rates from medical or university websites.

There is an inherent risk associated with having sex with prostitutes and only you can decide what is an acceptable risk.

I would say that booking with an escort service will most likely get you someone who is watching the clock, also many of the girls who work in places like Nana Plaza will want to get back to the bar quickly in hopes of getting another customer.

You never know and it really seems to be more about the chemistry that develops between the two of you. Sometimes you'll get one that takes a liking to you and will want to stay.

If they have enough English skill and have a good personality I don't mind letting them hang out with me after sex. Sometimes I'll even take them to grab a bite to eat, but if we can barely communicate, I don't see the point of hanging out with them all night.

Essentially any bar that has girls who have sex with customers for money is a brothel if you ask me. Many have short-time rooms that you can use for 300 or 400 baht or there will be a short-time hotel nearby.

At the bars of Nana Plaza for example you pay the barfine (usually 500 Baht) then you negotiate what you are going to pay the girl. Short-time rates are negotiable but on average expect to pay anywhere from 1500-2000 Baht.

If your hotel room is close enough to their bar, you can use your own room and save the fee of a ST room.

As far as being seedy and sleazy, I would say that Nana Plaza fits the image you have of a brothel, minus the ugly girls. There are beautiful ladyboys and genetic girls to be found at Nana Plaza.

Any relationship takes hard work. Even a straight relationship between a man and woman from the same culture has challenges. Add in a cross-cultural relationship with a transgender and there are even more challenges added on to it.

People have varying degrees of success but I'm skeptical about the prospects of these working out. Especially if it is with someone who has worked in a bar/brothel for a few years and has become jaded.

That said, I've met more than a few ladyboys who are delightful to be with and who only want to be loved and respected. It is a basic human need afterall.

I've only been to the U.K. a couple of times, so I know nothing about the transgender scene there.

I would agree with that statement wholeheartedly.

Being transgender or a ladyboy isn't what makes a person untrustworthy, but working in the sex industry and using drugs can and often does make a person untrustworthy.

Obviously, the typical sex tourist coming to Thailand is only going to meet the subset that works in the sex industry.

There is much more to Thailand than the red light districts.

However, due to economics a large percentage of Thai transgenders find themselves working in the sex industry at some point. They are then exposed to drugs and a lifestyle that can have long lasting impact upon their character and outlook.

That said, I've met more than a few that seem keep their dignity and honor intact.

But back to the topic of relationships, I don't recommend getting into them.

Some wise words of wisdom Mr Spider. And I totally agree, I'am sure there will be a diamond in the rock, somewhere. And its a shame. A part of me feel very sorry for them, they live in poverty, and have a huge opportunity to make extra money, I put my mind in that situation for a second, and I think I would do the same, from time to time, and its a shame, maybe its because the scene is new to me.
