. The difference between exchange booths along beach road can be significant. It's all very we'll saying it's only a few baht, but not everyone is on the same budget whilst mongering so every satang counts , especially with the exchange rate being shit for so long so now that it's at a reasonable rate, I will certainly be making hay when the sun shines.
This might sound that I'm being as tight as a ducks arse, but I always get a motor bike taxi, as the baht buses crawl along beach road at 7/8 pm, and as soon as I see a exchange booth with the best rate I tell the driver to stop for a wee minute then change my money, then just hope back on the moped to my chosen destination.
I used to change large amounts, then head back to the hotel safe, but rather than that I just change what I need for the day/night. As say you were to change for example 500 sterling, then some how lose it en route to the hotel safe. It would put a major downer on the rest of your trip.
