Hi Gents,

Just wondering if anyone on the board has stayed at Sabaideen before and if it's LB friendly. I have already asked them about a joiners fee and they confirmed there isn't one. Just trying to make sure there won't be any embarrassment for me or the lady when I get her back there...

I am assuming you are asking about Patong Beach Phuket?

Never stayed there but you may get a better response if you state the location, :D

The address is 74/41 Soi Banzaan, Nanai Road. I believe it is only a short walk from the action.

Never stayed there, but Nanai road is indeed close to everything. No-joiners fee is good....and good for you for thinking ahead about this.

Just curious, how long are you staying?

I saw the hotel's website. I believe it is called the "Sabai Dee" guesthouse. If so, the location is east of "Bangla Boxing Stadium". (Thai kickboxing....are you a fan? I am. I go at least once every trip). Looks like 600 baht per night.

The rooms look comfortable, and the neighborhood will be very modest...a far cry from anything 5-star, but that's ok (it'll be safe), as long as you know what to expect. I vary lodging, depending on my mood and desire to economize. You're coming a long way....from the US. You'll be jetlagged to hell, and I know in that state, i prefer a bit more comfort. When in Phuket, I stay in a private apartment, beachfront Patong....walking distance to Bangla Road.

No joiners fee. Never a hassle. Beautiful view. But....a bit pricier at about $65 US per night (varies with season). I can barely get a Super 8 Motel, roadside, where I live, for that. Send me a PM if interested. If not, cool. Theres a lot to choose from, for any budget. Enjoy!

You're right - it is very close to the Boxing Stadium and looks to be just a short stroll to Bangla (or stagger, depending on the state). Actually I would prefer a higher end hotel but this was picked by my Buddy who will be meeting me there. He's totally straight and wouldn't want to discuss my LB fetish with him. The good part is I will be there with him (separate rooms of course) for only a few nights, staying one extra night on my own and then heading to a 5 star for a conference. As I know most 5 stars are not really "guest friendly"; my plan is to check out of the resort and do my last night back at Sabai Dee for the environment provided it's an okay place. I'll update this thread after my trip to provide my feedback and post pics of the room in case others would be interested.

I will definitely post a trip report w/ photos (provided I have a willing companion). Based on those I have previously read, I will try to keep it to a certain standard - although those I have read were very well written and will hold me to a higher standard. :new:

I'll be there the 19th of April, although traveling with a reserved mate to play golf the 19th and 20th. His plan is to find a couple GG's for the evenings he's there so my 1st free night to "indulge" in my 1st LB experience would be the 21st. I will then have to move hotels to a non-guest friendly resort to attend a conference that week and then move back to Sabai Dee for another free night Friday the 26th. Soooooo looking forward to it!

Personally, i wouldn't call it a "short stroll" to the action. You'll be sweating your nuts off after 15 minutes "stroll". You'll be taking a motorbike taxi back, i'll bet.

Original question remains: is the Sabaidee LB friendly?
