When I am going to do a booking in a new hotel, I ALWAYS ask them before, if they accept ladyboy guests and if there is any joiner fee. I make implicitly clear that in presence of a joiner fee or in case of a refusal of ladyboy guests, I will not make a booking in that hotel.

I made an exception only once, in fact I knew I would be staying with the same ladyboy all the time and she would register with me upon my arrival. Hence, she could not have been considered as a guest, but as my companion. You should have seen the long faces at the reception, since they had an explicit sign indicating a joiner fee of 800 baht for each guest. Moreover, I remember a scene when we were leaving the room once in the afternoon and we crossed a couple coming back from the beach. Their faces had the expression: "What the fuck is this!? It is supposed to be a decent hotel!" I almost laughed my ass off.

Of course, I will not make any booking in that hotel any more.

I already confirmed there was no joiner fee but didn't specify LB Friendly. If not, I can always rent a ST room somewhere but as I will be there a few nights before going LB hunting, I will just keep a sharp eye on the clientele both in and out of the hotel. As I'm traveling with a mate and we already booked, it would be too late to cancel as it would raise questions with him as to the reason (I already told him no joiner fee) so want to avoid suspicions as I need to stay on the down low for professional reasons...

You could just be bold and ask the desk clerk, out of earshot of your Str8 Mate of course, if the hotel accepts ladyboy guests. Ladyboys are everywhere, and just asking the question probably isn't going to surprise anybody...even the sweet little lady at the front desk.

I'm guessing you're thinking "but if they say"no", then everytime I walk be they'll be saying to themselves or each other "oooooh, there HE is!".

Not gonna happen.

That cartoon is hilarious! God, the walk of shame - certainly been there.

True story: I was in Hanoi and staying at the Hilton Hanoi Opera at the same time Bill Clinton was visiting. He was no longer President but was back for a visit as he really was the guy to open relations back up with Vietnam and the Vietnamese people really love him.

The morning I was walking out my tart-du-jour, we stepped off the elevator on the main lobby floor and there were press people lined up on both sides of the velvet rope tht cordoned off a path with cameras at the ready thinking perhaps I was Clinton (as we were staying on the same floor). What a shock it must have been for the press there to see me and a young hottie on my arm. I didn't notice any flashes going off but I heard plenty of "clicks" as the doors opened. Most public walk of shame of my life!

Maybe there should be a "Memorable Walks of Shame" thread on the board - I'll bet everyone has some hilarious episodes...

Updated info:

Came in rather late last night with my co-worker and a couple of GG hotties and when we walked in, another guest was signing in a LB with no problem.

Not a bad place and really inexpensive. Can add the Sabaidee Guest House to the list of LB friendly hotels / guesthouses....
