Short update on our holiday. We've been kind of sick, both of us having the flu, fluctuating from bearable to rather frustrating. We're finally ok again, our plan is to give Obsessions another shot tonight, nothing like last time, I expect to be in, see what girls we like, pick and get the fuck out.
We've been to Jenny Star Bar, my thoughts below. I'll also give my opinion on the Penthouse Hotel, since many people (as I read it) aren't giving this place a fair chance because of it's affiliation to Obs/Kitten club.
Jenny Star Bar (Pattaya)
A can't miss for any LB fan that walks over walking street. It's your typical open bar with girls dancing outside. About five ladyboys dancing outside when we walked past, I wasn't feeling the place as we walked past but my girlfriend persuaded me to head in anyways. We were greeted by a not too attractive ladyboy that was extremely courteous and respectable in every way, but yea, not a looker...
Of the girls dancing outside my gf liked a blonde-ish one, looked a bit Brazilian from the back. I thought she was ok, didn't blow my mind or anything but I'd have no problem taking her. Unfortunately all girls save the one that walked us in were oblivious to us. I'm not sure if it's because we're a couple or just because they didn't care so much that evening but there was zero chemistry/feeling happening. To be honest, we were being ignored (ouch!). My girlfriend wanted to talk to the blonde regardless but I talked her out of it, I noticed she neglected us at every chance instead of even giving us the slightest glance, wasn't feeling the cold reception. She agreed thankfully.
I guess for couples (especially picky ones like us!) it's important to have a somewhat larger pool of talent. Jenny Star Bar isn't our thing. If you walk past it on walking street though and just move to the opposite side of the street and have a good peek, you can sample most of the talent that way, saves you useless conversation if you see nothing you like.
The Penthouse Hotel (Pattaya)
I'll be straight up, despite a few flaws I love the Penthouse Hotel. I don't think it's for everyone but it's "we don't give a fuck" feel, the 24 hour room service, excellent food (at decent price) and nice positioning just works for us. Yes, you have to like the Fantasia porno look and feel, it's like Ron Jeremy bought Disneyland and he turned the place into one big porncity. Depending on your taste it's a huge yay or nay. We loved it from the moment we walked in.
Downsides? Only good airco is in the hotel room, staff English is not all that great (but they try their best nonetheless) and they're working on the hotel (construction/renovation) which disturbs the experience quite a bit. The airco and the construction are somewhat irksome issues for me, the Penthouse isn't expensive but it isn't the cheapest place either, on bad days the restaurant feels like a hellhole, which is a shame because the food is excellent.
In my opnion I think board members should stop comparing the Obsessions experience to the Penthouse and view it as a single entity (yes I know, everywhere you go in this hotel they promote Kittens/Obs), despite a few flaws the place is definitely worth it in my opinion. We're enjoying our stay and would certainly come back. It's an aquired taste, but if it is yours, don't hesitate I'd say.
