I recently opened up a Kasikorn Bank account at their branch in Central Center (Big C), North Pattaya.

It was very easily done and I now have a passbook, ATM card and online banking and mobile phone banking at my fingertips.

However, I'm now back in the UK and I want to test a transfer of funds from my UK bank account (Natwest) to my Kasikorn Bank account, but I cannot find the sort code of the Kasikorn Bank, which is a requirement.

Has anyone here done this before and knows where to locate the Kasikorn Bank sort code :?:

I've got a hunch it's the Swift code of KASITHBK that's needed, as I also did some Googling and that's all I ever saw.

The banks in the UK use "sort code" to identify specific branches and I wondered if that was also the case in Thailand or if anyone had actually made a transfer from the UK to a Kasikorn account.

When I sent funds to Thailand (to hotel not for water buffalo medicine ) I only needed SWIFT and bank account number.

I think I paid around 20 EUR fee for 100 EUR transfer.

What did you need to open an account, i.e. passport, etc.

For a Kasikornbank account, all that was required from me was:

1. Passport
2. Email address (for internet banking)
3. Mobile phone with Thai number (for telephone banking)
4. Address (my hotel address and room number was fine)
5. BHT500 for the ATM card (lasts 5 years)
6. Some money to deposit

I visited the branch upstairs in Central Center (Big C), North Pattaya and the process took less than 30 mins.

After the account was setup inside the branch and I'd received my passbook and ATM card the girls on the helpdesk outside took over and pressed all the buttons required on the ATM machine to allow me to change my PIN and also to enter my Thai mobile phone number to associate it with the telephone banking system, they downloaded the necessary software onto my mobile (Thai GSM) and also to my GF's DTAC mobile too.

Details were emailed to me to setup the online banking by the time I'd got back to the hotel and it all worked seamlessly.

The telephone banking is excellent too. As I lay on the bed in the hotel I did a test transfer to my GF's account, moments later it showed on her telephone as being credited via her own telephone banking logon.

Mobile phone top-up is also available to any Thai mobile number via the telephone banking and it's free to access and check your balance, transfers costs BHT10 each.


I could not imagine this process or functionality could be any better or easier - Highly recommended!

Have sent money to my account in Siam Commercial Bank and the swift code was needed instead of the sort code

You need
Name of account holder
swift code
acount number
name of bank & address

It did confuse the girl in Barclays, but she said we will use swift code instead of sort code and it worked took about 4-5 days.

Just found my old form and have updated the last post it cost £20 to send £800 that was in june last year I then sent out another in September £300 same price £20
