I did it! Kept checking Expedia and this morning booked a flight and 5 nights at Unico Express. I'll arrive late Friday Jan. 20 and leave Jan. 25 2012. If any of the experienced members on this Forum are there (BKK) in the same time frame, I would like to meet you there for some beers and hopefully give me some pointers before venturing to the "dark side". I'm sure I will post some questions and ask for advice here in the next couple of months. Thanks to everyone here for the welcome and encouraging words...would never have made it this far without you!

Good Lad Jaybee, There's bound to be a few guys around, in the mean time keep searching the forum and asking your questions and remember to take notes you will be expected to write a "what I did on my holidays" essay
