It's that time of the year again, Miss International Queen 2011 will be held on Nov 4/11 at the Tiffany Theatre in Pattaya.

It sounds like they have 13 contestants this year - if you check the press conference videos below in part 2, they show some of the contestant photos. Miss Venezuela looks hot!

It will also be broadcast live on Thai TV Channel 9.

not sure if I can make it yet - hopefully I can adjust my schedule accordingly - I know a lot of BMs think this is boring, waste of time, etc - but I am always interested and impressed with how beautiful the contestants can be - especially this one where ts from all around the world compete. I see there is one from China as well - which will be a first.

Been a couple of time.
Pre Show is actually the best re the "Reception" side of things.
The "Active" side of the show is Great, the "Lets take another Break whilst we wait for Airtime" SUCKS.
Altogether Positive, worth an experience, specially with a nice little Honey at your side

Am I right in thinking the Middle East is another first, with a candidate representing Lebanon? Doesn't mean she lives there but it would be interesting to know.

Yes, true - here's a screen capture of Lebanon, China and India. There was someone from India quite a few years ago - but she was actually from Singapore of Indian heritage.

Here are some better photos of the 25 contestants from Miss Ripley's Popular Vote. You can register a fictitious name and phone number, but need a real e-mail address to confirm registration. The user name will be the first name you enter on the form and the password will be the phone number.

I see there's also a Russian entered - another first!

I have received e-mail confirmation the contest is going ahead as scheduled, despite the flooding in the rest of the country.

This upcoming week there will be plenty of activities in Pattaya, some free to attend, so keep your eyes open and cameras at the ready!

I think I just saw Miss Germany whiz by on the back of a motorbike.

Or was it Miss Italy? Are they the same person?

Or maybe it was someone wearing a mask, getting into the spirit of All Hallows Eve. Kinda looked like a mask in the sunlight...

What the hell's a "Willis and Fortuna"?

Ok, for the inquiring minds, here's a map and information about Wallis and Fortuna.

Posted Image

From Wikipedia:

Wallis and Futuna, officially the Territory of the Wallis and Futuna Islands (French: Wallis et Futuna or Territoire des îles Wallis et Futuna, Fakauvea and Fakafutuna: Uvea mo Futuna), is a Polynesian French island territory in the South Pacific between Tuvalu to the northwest, Rotuma of Fiji to the west, the main part of Fiji to the southwest, Tonga to the southeast, Samoa to the east, the New Zealand-associated state of Tokelau to the northeast and to a more distant north the Phoenix Islands (Kiribati). (However, Wallis and Futuna is not part of, nor even contiguous with, French Polynesia. Wallis and Futuna is located at the very opposite western end of Polynesia.)

Its land area is 264 km2 with a population of about 15,000. Mata-Utu is the capital and biggest city. The territory is made up of three main volcanic tropical islands along with a number of tiny islets, and is split into two island groups that lie about 260 km apart, namely Wallis Islands (Uvea) in the northeast, and Hoorn Islands (Futuna Islands) in the southwest, including Futuna Island proper and the mostly uninhabited Alofi Island.

Since 2003 Wallis and Futuna has been a French overseas collectivity (collectivité d'outre-mer, or COM). Between 1961 and 2003, it had the status of a French overseas territory (territoire d'outre-mer, or TOM).

Hard to imagine that a ts is from there!
