Usually holidays with the wife involve a good few weeks in LOS and invairably opportunities arise for a private sortie to the dark side.
This time our 5 week itinerary did not include any LOS time, two weeks in Italy (fantastic) 2 and a bit weeks in England, family visiting..no comment.
I did manage to extend our Singapore stop over to three days and was determined to have a bit of me (LB) time. Our hotel was on the edge of Little India so Rowell Road was the obvious choice. On the last evening the wife had some last minute shopping, surprise surprise. I left her to it and took the 10 minute walk to Rowell Road.
I had read about the seediness of the place, but after 5 weeks with not even the forum for comfort, I was looking forward to whatever lay ahead.
I hoped 6.30 pm wouldn't be too early, but as I etered the street I saw a taxi disgorge 4 Thai LB's at no. 79. I hoped I would be too early for the queues of Bangladeshi construction workers, this proved to be the case. I strolled up to the front door, screened by big pot plants. Well I never saw a door, rather a prison like grill with padlock. I wondered what choices I would have and what the level of talent would be like, both minor considerations, but we can dream.
Two Thai LB's greeted me with the salutation..."$50". having assured them I was holding folding and that I was not put off by the going rate, it was smiles all round and the lock was grill was opened. Thanks for the report. I've heard about Rowell Road a number of times and was curious as I overnight in SIN on occasion (my first Thai GG was at a fishbowl in Geylang). Your comments about paying for the extras seems to have escaped the stuff I read before. Guess I will continue to give it a pass unless I'm ending a long dry spell.

Rowell Road is the lower end of the Singapore scene and as Patrick described it, is indeed a short time place. Facilities for washing are almost non existent but you get a decent bang for your buck.
$50 is the foreigner price but I presume they wouldn't watch the clock as much as for the locals.
Other houses to look at would be 61, 31 and 9 where you get a mix of Malay and Indian ladyboys from Malaysia.
And of course, a local Chinese ladyboy, Irene who hangs around outside house 63 gives a good deal too.
