It was dental I first came to Thailand for. Lots of cracked molars n such over some recent years. I had about 5k work done over a month. It would have cost more like 20k in the states. Work was almost robotically efficient done by female dentists with such a soft touch I almost fell asleep in the chair on numerous occasions. Booked by email, they got me in within 24 hours of my landing. 20 mins by skytrain from Suk and Thong lor where I stay (GOOD food at soi 38).

Dental Design Clinic. Not too many storefronts past Soi Cowboy (on Asoke n Suk basically). Don't let the small place fool ya.

I don't miss an opportunity in Phuket to have my teeth both cleaned and laser-whitened. I've chosen 3 places at random (would go to the same place, but they were booked), and have been happy with the results each time.

I don't even recall what I last paid for cleaning, but it was very inexpensive.

Laser whitening, about $300 USD. This used to be a huge bargain compared to stateside prices, but I'm starting to find prices here dropping to nearly LOS prices in some cases.

I'm another fan of having dental work done in Thailand, about 6 years ago I had 6 porcelain veneers done at Bangkok Dental hospital, the cost was about AUD 2,400, about 40% of the price I was quoted in Melbourne. The facility was top notch and my caring sweet dentist looked a bit like Dave's. My own dentist was very pleased with the quality of work.
In two weeks, the wife and I are going to Chiang Mai, She is having two crowns and I'm having one, cost here $1500 each, in Chiang Mai $550 each, the savings pays for the trip.
The practice (Grace Dental Clinic) is recognised as the best in Chiang Mai by the expats at Thaivisa.com.
I do have a picture of my Chiang Mai dentist

Dentists in Thailand are much better value.

When I moved here I was undergoing some dental work back home. The dentist could not complete the work before I moved to Thailand and was unsure he could crown a particular tooth successfully.

I flew to Thailand and a few days later had raging toothache - maybe the long flight and air pressure - who knows. I was recommended the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. They did a brilliant job and for a much lower price.

Since then listening to various Farangs here the advice seems to summarize as follows:

For cosmetic/cleaning and minor dental work there are a number of excellent clinics. Pattaya Klang must have at least 12. I use Modern Smile.

For anything major like Crowns/Bridge work etc then use Pattaya International hospital on Soi 4 between Beach and Second Roads

Both Puttytat and Anthony have 'Donny Osmond' type smiles due to veneers. Hansome men the two of them - maybe they can say if the treatment has helped in there conquests...

I had an upper molar that was beginning to crack crowned at the Dr. Smile clinic which is directly across the street from Tukcom on Pattaya Tai back in May. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the work. I got the temporary crown and 3 days later had the permanent one inserted. I just went to my local dentist last week for my twice yearly cleaning and my dentist was impressed with the work I had done. I plan to have another done in November when I return.

In Phuket try the Phuket Dental Centre, located next to bangkok International Hospital in Phuket town- hosp refers all their difficult work there. Cleaning is B600-1000 depending on how manky you are. If you can't be arsed going into Phuket town stand with the Patong Hospital entrance behind you. Look half left and across the street, to the left of the jcn that leds to the 'staff house'; there's a very good lady dentist there as well.
