This is something that has crossed my mind when looking at electrical wiring in Thailand, both indoors and outdoors.

I have a couple of near misses concerning electricity and badly wired fittings or lamps while in Thailand......certainly a worry especially in budget accomodation and the type of bars we tend to populate.

i can remember about three years ago in pattaya, there was a huge downpour, the water flooded the roads, some roads the water was up to the curbs.
due to the thai dodgey electrics, whilst a farang was out and about in this weather ( fuck knows why in a downpour like this) he was electricuted and eventually passed away.
it was in all the local pattaya papers.
