After a 18 month absence, I'm off to Bangkok next week for a 5 or 6 day layover on my way to India. I've visited LOS a bunch of times so I know the bar scene fairly well (in part thanks to this board). Other than the Guess Bar makeover and the construction at NEP, doesn't seem like much has changed.

I probably don't arrive at the DIG, ground zero for me, until 1AM at the earliest, and that's after 24 hours of traveling, so after a shower and what not, it'll be 2AM before I head out. Since my style has usually been LT meetings with the girls, by 2AM, I'm usually out drinking with my chosen honey or shagging her in my loom by then.

Maybe a dumb question, but is my best bet at that point to just work freelancers on the street? Are the gogos still open at that hour? Any beer bars or clubs that the LBs tend to frequent after hours? As someone who's mostly picked up LBs at the NEP gogos and Guess Bar, I'm sorta intrigued by the prospect of a freelancer (and thus no barfine, schedule the next evening, etc).

Go to Big Dogs or Lucky Luke's just before closing, i.e. at 1:30 or 1:45. Watch the Nana exodus and pick a LB who did not have a barfine that night. Take her to a street bar on Sukhumvit first to drink something, or to eat something, and test whether the chemistry between you is good. You should be able to get a LT for a good price. However, a LB who had already a ST or two that evening will not agree to go.

Guess is open until 3am now. That may help you.

Nana Liquid disco (the old Angels/Nana Disco in the Nana Hotel) has been done up and is open until around 5am maybe later. You see the odd LB in there but frankly if thats your thing, you might find it easier just to get one and take her in with you. (They are not keen on unescorted LB's unless they are regulars).

Talking of which the Nana hotel restaurant is not as good as it was for people watching - I have been in there couple of times in last few weeks and there were like only 3 tables occupied 'after hours' and there are now after hours bars in Soi 4 itself set up outside the Nana's open bar directly across from NEP but I have not noticed LB's working there - looks like its just to sell beer with couple GG's getting drinks.

Thanks, all. Sounds like I better hustle. As it is, I'm left with the B-teamers who haven't been barfined. Tough, as I usually like to be picky about my first session on a trip. Of course, somewhere in those b-teamers is that hidden gem...if I can find her.
