I've observed the large number of Thai ladyboys that work in Singapore, especially those in Orchard Towers, are very rarely heard to be working in Thailand.
At any one time there are at least thirty split between the 2 bars in Singapore and at least another sixty in Thailand who are waiting to come back.
I've been told by some of these ladyboys that when they go home they rest, relax, visit their families, spend a week at a temple in a form of "penance" etc.
Some even go so far as saying they dare not "work" lest they're found out by family friends or relatives.
I was just wondering, how much of this is true? I do know of some that work for the Patong/Nana bars but they seem to be few and far between. Are the rest really resting?

i was told by a cople of girls that the mony in singapore is alot more so when they come back to thailand, they seem to have a break and as soon as they want money again they are back again

Exactly, they make alot more money in Singapore, especially the "superstars" and when they are there, because it is usually for a short time, maybe a month at a time they work really hard so alot will rest upon their return to LOS.......

Simple - many of them don't want their friends and family in Bangkok to know they are doing the job they are doing. They would be seen in Bangkok, they won't be seen in Singapore

I am sure that the people in thailand know why some girls go to singapore.

Actually Stewart is correct, the girls give all sorts of stories to their family - generally like doing fashion show, cat walk, cabaret, etc. Of course their close friends know, but their families generally do not, or if they suspect don't say anything as long as the support keeps coming in.

there are exceptions like Beer of Guess Bar ... she works in singapore and at Guess Bar ...

but generally i agree that many that work in singapore do this because more money is there and also because family do not know ...

but would the family care if the money flow would stop to the rice fields to buy new tractors ..., motor bike for brother and gold for mother ?? yes they certainly would ...

Adding on to viking675's comments...
I think with Thai families, it's a case of don't see, don't ask.
It would be a loss of face if the family is suddenly not getting new stuff.

I was a few years back in Singapore for some work and thats the first time I stumbled across LBs, at Orchard tower that is.

I loved Singapore as a country and would be happy to move there if I could find some way of supporting myself over there.

Now for the Ladyboys, it was my 1st experince just meeting some in Orchard and I was astonished. I visited the bar on the topfloor with the LBs but was a bit to afraid to actually take one home. At least back then. Will always remember how one of them who I had bought a few drinks for started crying when i turned her down, she asked if I didn't think she was pretty enough, wich she was.

Alas I didn´t have the guts to tell the truth about It was I who was scared and just left.

Hopefully I´ll go back some day.
