hey guys

this is probably one for rxpharm , i'm just starting to sort things out for my september monger , and wanted to know if you can buy inhalors over the counter in pharmacies in patts? . i'm not actually asthmatic but i had one bad attack about 5 years ago( first and hopefully last) which left me in hospital for 5 nights , so as peace of mind i keep them handy , i use the basic salamol cfc free inhalor and rather than go through the rigmarole of booking to see the asthma nurse prior to re knewing my prescription i have heard they are quite openly available in chemists abroad .

thanks in advance , any info appreciated

sidenote , although i havent had an attack since my bad one 5 years ago the air quality and humidity does sometimes make me a touch out of breath when excerting myself so the inhalor is peace of mind to me .

I would suggest you do not buy a generic inhaler - buy a brand name one even though it will cost a bit more.

what brand would i look be looking for??

Look for the following brand names:

Ventolin, Aerolin, Ventorlin by GlaxoSmithKline (same drug, name varies according to market).

Proventil by Schering Plough

ProAir by Teva.


Some of these may be available as a diskus or rotahaler (dry powder inhalation device). This can be more effective at delivering the drug down into your lungs as it is difficult for some people to coordinate pressing the inhaler at the right moment to breathe the aerosol into your lung.

I bought genuine Ventolin in the chemist inside the Villa Market complex.
Sometimes the air in Pattaya gets to me so I keep one for emergency.
