was looking who was logged on, the last time i was logged on, and i noticed that there were a few registered users, who had been registered for nearly a year and had not made one single post.
just thinking to myself, what is the point in signing up, if you have no intentions of contributing towards the forum, they would have been best remaining anonomous lurkers rather than now lurkers with an identity :?

Sometimes you don't get to see all the juicy pics that members post unless you register first....

I suppose that many of the lurkers are LBs from the bars. Only three girls - namely Pond, Neung, and Liza - post something from time to time. Several others are just reading what we write about them.

My guess is that they have never been to LOS so have little if anything to contribute. Another possibility is they signed up with the intent of asking questions about their first trip when the time suits. They can also PM people to ask questions and have the benefit of filtering new posts since their last log on. No big deal really.

I'd say that's a very probable explanation. :|

I remember discussing this with the owners of another forum/paysite and the consensus was that less than 10% of those registered on the forum actually ever make it to Thailand.

At the end of the day, I don't have a problem with those numbers, however I would like to think that "newbies' feel as though they can still contribute and ask questions without being shot down by know it alls.

I certainly don't claim to know it all, and learn things from other members virtually every time I log on and read the forum. :o

Cheers

well said kk, newbies need to feel comfortable and at ease when posting.
even if they came on and intorduced themselves

Every noob is welcomed… as long as he/she is ok and don't provoke with idiotic ideas like paying 50k BHT for ST, make fake trip reports… :ang3:

Had one girl tell me after spending a few days together that she went and checked everything that I'd written on here to see what sort of person I am.
