Had some good news from the PBR this week........the Thai Tourist Authority have refunded them the money we paid for the extra nights we had to stay there, in my case 11 of them.............yeehar!
Can't say I got a similar communique from the PBR, but our situations were a bit different.
From the way things seem to be shaping up over there you'll need those extra days tacked on to the end of this trip.
Might want to pack a few of those extra shirts...

I read that one other guy on another board also got the refund notice. Can't say I got a similar communique from the PBR, but our situations were a bit different.
I'm out of here in two days. Hope the don't hose it up before then. I need to get home and pay my taxes. From the way things seem to be shaping up over there you'll need those extra days tacked on to the end of this trip.
With the ASEAN summit meeting this weekend and the arrival of a U.S. aircraft carrier group happening just about now this weekend should be a circus. I read there are 5,000 extra police in town.
Oh BTW, the bar raids continue as Tony's Disco was raided. Some suspect the ASEAN summit as the reason for the clean up. That is at least three discos in the last two weeks or so and this time one with a Thai owner (I presume Tony is the real owner?). The Hell Club was raided and shut down as well as another gentleman's club. They seem to be targeting places that stay open very late and places with on site sex services. As an added bonus Songkran is just around the corner.

As I told my concerned friends when I was there in November during the unrest, "I'll be safe, I'm staying in my room and keeping my head down"....of course I forgot to mention I was usually in the company of a ladyboy.
Red shirts threaten Pattaya rally if demand not met
Jatuporn said the political struggle has moved into a final showdown which there must be a winner and a loser.
"Anything can happen today or tomorrow," he said.
The red shirts may move the rally site to Pattaya, coinciding with the Asean Summit, after today's deadline on their demand for the prime minister and privy councillors to step down, rally co-organiser Jatuporn Phrompan said on Thursday.
