Hi everyone,

I really want to get back to LOS since my last visit was back in 2003, it's been way too long. Looking through a few other threads it seems that a good number of boardmembers holiday in LOS from late November through to the end of January. That time slot is ok with me but I'm interested to hear others opinions as to when the ideal time would be.

I guess one main thing I'd like to do is time my trip while there's a reasonable number of BMs so we can do a bit of hunting and drinking and just have a crew to hang with as I'll be travelling alone. Other aspects are public holidays where no bars are open, I'm sure alternate entertainment arrangements can be made but if I can avoid times like that it would be better. What festivals or events are on that might be worth planning around? Anything else I need to consider? I was thinking of doing a scuba trip in the Similan Islands and then maybe a few days in Phuket the up to Bangers and Patts for a bit.

Cheers

i have been to pattaya varuous times of the year, and i find for decent flight prices, hotels, and not so many farang(more ggs and lbs for me) is may/ june, then i tend to go sep/oct.
i think that xmas and new year for me is too busy. and going during songkram, someone throwing dirty water over me is not my kind of thing. if you want to go during a celebration i thought that loi katong in november was far bettter than xmas or newyear.

I do agree with rev except that i would like to experience Songkran...

Two things that may be useful:

May/June:IMO, the weather is too hot
September: the most rainy month and the lb scene is obviously not as good as during the high season.

i prefer the low seasons..... thats is apr/may and sep/oct too mee...

why..?? well better bargains about flight and hotel...and then due to the lack of costumers.....iam incredible hansume that time a year...

also the shops/bars/restaurents seems more eager to make some business at that time....which often results in a better service...

but okay....if i could afford it....my favorite season would be "all year"...

I always go in Jan or Feb and its great! My friends went in october and felt it was too quite but the service was not any better. I have never seen really good service in LOS.
