hi there guys.. I am a hongkonger here.. ya.. u can find some LB in wanchai bar area on the street.. but they all from thai or phi and really not that many of them.. 5 to 10 thats it.. and some are really ugly.. and if u are looking for gg in HK.. stay away from the wanchai bars.. they are for tourists only.. usually u are over charged ... go kowloon side for night life .. there are planty of night clubs with local girls..for 4 to 5 hours drinks of whisky ,all u can drink, with a girl in a karaoke room may cost u about HKd 1500 and extra 500 for a laid upstairs room usually.. ya.. its not cheap..but thats the price for HK , even we local pay that...but if u be able to make it to china ShenZhen which about an hour away from HK by train.. u can get better quility girls for cheaper price..I have been to most night club in HK and ShenZhen... we local all prefer china better..those who stay in HK for fun just because can;t arrange the time or not allow to go china by wife or girl friend..LOL..so.. if anyone need any info about night life in HK or SZ.. just pm me... I would like to help...

Heading to HK for two nights...wondering where to stay? Any suggestions?

A reasonably priced hotel in Lan Kwai Fong would be much appreciated as would a different area that may be more accommodating...

Not looking to hunt, just eat and drink on the town without killing all my funds

Any help is greatly appreciated

I have only used Harbour View International in Wan Chai which did not allow guests after midnight so used Vila Victoria S/T hotel most nights instead . Other than that on other trips I always used either my mates place or the Vila Victoria .
I heard the Warney was ok in Wanchai but was double the price when I needed a hotel so I'd like to hear of some hotel recommendations too just in case I go back as I've always wanted to go to the Hong Kong sevens.

I've stayed in the:
Luk Kwok (great location in Wan Chai, no problems with guests, rates were very good when they were doing renovations but I think they have climbed up again to what you would expect for 4+stars in Wan Chai)
Cosmopolitan - Queens Road - easy walk down to Wan Chai or MRT to connect to LKF and cheap taxi back. Good rates (as it is up the hill a little - just opposite the racecourse). No problems with guests (even 2 at a time) but they had to leave ID (not dissimilar to many places in BKK).
Novotel - slightly more expensive, but i had the Accor Advantage Plus rate which helped at the time. No problem with guests - a little further away than Luk Kwok.
Not aware of any hotels immediately in Lang Kwai Fok area??

a few weeks to go and then I will be flying into HK - and later on to BKK. I am scheduling 2 nights in HK

Sounds to me like Wan Chai might be the area for a noobie like myself.

I would like a starting place for Wan Chai. Can someone recommend a budget hotel, doesn't have to be luxurious- just affordable and reasonably central.

thanks all
