Doesn't look like there are many threads devoted to talking about movies, music and other aspects of pop culture. Perhaps this thread can serve that purpose.

Anyone see "Rambo" yet? Being a fan of the series and of action flicks in general I couldn't wait for this movie. Turns out it was 10 times better than I expected it to be. Surely the best action movie in recent memory and probably one of the top 5 Stallone movies of all time. Can't wait to see it again.

What else is in the top 5 Stallone Movies: 'Stop or My mom will Shoot', 'Oscar', 'Rhinestone' and 'Judge Dredd'? They should put those in a box set, it would make a mint.

Ok, ignoring the sarcasm, I'll bite.... Prior to Rambo I'd say this is a pretty good top 5:

5. Cop Land
4. Assasins
3. Cliffhanger
2. Rocky
1. First Blood

Rambo 4 is definitely not the movie for LB-lovers :)
Stallone tried everything best to show in a large screen at his 62 years. :)
and to impress spectators, he filled up the movie with rivers of blood.

some small statistics. (pay attention to the row, it is Rambo 1, Rambo 2, Rambo 3 and Rambo4 from left to right).

The number of bad guys, murdered by Rambo, while wearing his shirt.
1 12 33 83

The number of bad guys, murdered by Rambo without wearing his shirt (or topless ?)
0 46 45 0

Total number of killed

When I heard about the latest "RAMBO" offering, I thought to myself, surely Stallone will be bringing in a newcomer and be more of a mentor figure. Nope, Sly is back in action at 62.

Given this info, I then thought about Sly executing a black bag operation to rescue some of his former special forces comrades (who are incontenent and feeble) from the evil clutches of the abusive and neglectful veterans administration hospital, where high colonics and bad fiberless food are being served daily.

Rambo and his team of geriatrics enter the facility with walkers, wheelchairs, canes and depends to kick the shit out of the VA pencil pushers.

Ah, what a film.

Makes me nostalgic for Da Nang in 67.

All kidding aside, I haven't seen the latest Rambo, and will likely wait until it is released on DVD.

I'm a huge fan of the very first Rambo, First Blood. Beyond that, not so much.

My top 5 Stallone films:

Rocky
First Blood
F.I.S.T.
Cop Land
Antz

Rocky
First Blood
Rocky II
Cop Land
Death Race 2000 (with David Carradine as well, very entertaining to watch and wicked sense of humour)

If it wasn't for sarcasm I wouldn't have much to say :D

1. Rocky
2. First Blood
3. Rocky III - for Clubber Lang's "My Prediction for the fight? Pain." And Hulk Hogans great acting as Thunderlips.
4. CliffHanger
5. Cobra - Has to be in the top five. "You're the disease, and I'm the cure"

I love Death Race. It is one of my favorite movies but I tend to not think of it as a Stallone movie. I guess I break Stallone flicks down into pre and post Rocky.

And Hoot you're right Cobra was an overlooked gem on my part. "Go ahead, I don't shop here." Priceless.
