I'm a bit of a Karaoke junkie after my 3 months in China, so that said, does anyone have some good recommendatinos on a top flight Karaoke bar in BKK or Pattaya?

I'd prefer something that has singing in a main bar area, not a KTV room, with a killer sound system and good songbook that has western tunes.

Also, LB friendly would be a plus, as I might want to take my LB for the evening out singing with me!!

In the past I've been dragged off to a few Karaoke bars with LBs in BKK and Pats, usually too drunk to remember where though.

I remember once being taken to Alice on Sukhuvit soi 5 (or 7 - same soi as Gullivers). But it's very much a Karaoke bar, rather than a beer bar with Karaoke - still a good laugh with the right comapny. I ended up befriending an elderly Japanese couple, doing a duet of My Way in teh early hours of the morning with the elderly Japanese man, whilst his young wife and my LB tried to mask their embarrassment with laughter.

Another was at the tiny LB Caberet show on Soi 7 (Pattaya), not sure if it's still there now (???). After the Caberet show ended a friend and I, plus another guy there, lingered around at the end chatting with the LBs and suddenly a karaoke machine got wheeled out and we ended up sing until the earlier hours again, cleaning out their Captain Morgan.

It's definietly not hard to find karaoke in either places, the worrying thing is the amount of LBs who believe they can sing and sound like a cat being strangled (all of them..).
