I'll be situated in bangkok monday to friday with work, but was wondering how possible weekend trips away are.

I realise pattaya is an option due it only being a couple hours on the bus away, but how about phuket or ko sumai for the weekend? is that doable?

btw. are the phi phi islands (james bond island) off ko samui? easy to get to with ferry etc?

Thansk in advance

Anything is possible however it depends on whether you are prepared to be stuck behind the wheel for hours each weekend.
Alternatively you could jump on a plane and be anywhere within an hour or thereabouts.

Keep an eye on the airasia website, they are often doing cheap deals from Bangkok around Thailand.

Samui is only about 1,30hrs, if my memory is correct.

Bangkok Airways are pretty reasonable for internal flights, the website is www.bangkokair.com
Phi Phi island is off Phuket not Samui and can be reached by ferry.
