Highly recommend the Grand Business Inn on Sukhumvit 2/4, 2/11 Sukhumvit Soi 11. It is just beside the 7/11 on the right hand side of Soi 11 as you turn the corner coming from Sukhumvit Road.

It is newly renovated with good size room, has free high speed internet connection in the rooms, TV with DVD player, minibar, full size bathtubs with showers, free internet for guests in the lobby (limit 30 min per session), 24 hr coffee shop, guest friendly policy ( guests leave ID at front desk, no questions asked), no extra charge.

ROOM
Price-THB.

SINGLE SUPERIOR ROOM 1,600

DOUBLE PREMIER ROOM 1,600

PREMIER SUITE ROOM 2,000

EXECUTIVE DOUBLE ROOM 2,000

GRAND SUITE ROOM 2,500

Click on link above to view photos of the rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I almost forgot, it is 10 min walk from Nana Plaza and 15 min walk from Guess Bar.

Dunno if I'm stating the obvious here but Dynasty Inn on Suk' Soi 4 (Nana) is the best place to stay. 900 to 1280 baht a night right in the heart of the action but just far enough away from the Plaza. No dramas with reception no matter who you bring home with you and no extra charge for 'guests'.
I always ask for a room in the back building because if you want to you can avoid reception altogether. However, at this hotel (almost) everyone is there for the same thing and I've never found it necessary.
Depending how long you're staying in Bkk you might want to look into renting an apt - much cheaper, last time I was there I found one for 5000 bht a month (2 months).

Been busy hence no reply earlier.
The apt was a fair way from Soi 4 at On Nut - abt 15 mins by skytrain and 5 mins on motocycle taxi from Soi 4. Abt 60-70 baht by meter taxi. I use ST hotels most of the time for liasons, if you want all night experience you friend will usually know a cheap hotel close by wherever you are. I generally don't take friends to my 'HQ' unless I know them real well.
The apts themselves are a bit better than the standard of dynasty inn's rooms - bigger as well....
Everyone has a different approach to their holiday and this way suits me.
If you want the name of the building and the soi let me know.

Thanks for the info Reacher! Yes i am interested in the name of the building and the number of the soi. Maybe i have a look when i am next time in Bangkok. So you stayed there for 2 months? You had to pay any deposits? On Nut is the end of the skytrain but not too bad located. Sounds interesting!

No worries.
The name of the building is 93 Building and it's in soi 93. It's abt 4 - 500 metres down the soi from the intersection with Suk'. You'll know you're getting close when you go over a bridge over a small klong (canal). There's a little shop straight across the road (not 7/11) with the coldest beer. You'll have to pay a deposit of 5000 baht (refunded at checkout) you can stay for as long or short a time as you like, the nightly rate is 550 baht so if you stay anything more that 9 nights it's cheaper to pay for the whole month.
One thing - the people at 93 Building and surrounding businesses don't speak English. I can only speak a little Thai and I got by OK so as long as you have a bit of Thai you'll be fine..... On Nut skytrain station is Suk' soi 77 from memory so that gives you an idea of how far the apts are from there...
