Change of plan for the seasonal vacation time in Thailand. My wife wants to spend her time shopping in Bangkok, but I can go and play for a weekend in Phuket myself.

Looking for advice for a cheap and clean hotel (pool not necessary) which I can get a room no problem over Christmas break. I'd like on in Patong as it seems to be the centre of all things.

And should be a place where rooms are readily available - ie dont need to book too much in advance.

MUST be LB friendly - as that is my soul reason for being there !

Thank you my good friends

Brit, when are you planning to visit Phuket?

I've been tempted to go there myself but have never been before and don't know anyone else who'll be around there.

I'll be in Thailand from 25th Dec.

And there is a hairdresser/ beauty salon just at the back of the C&N hotel, down Soi C&N, where many LBs go for their hair and make-up sessions.

Might meet 3-4 in there in the afternoon.

On your recommendation I tried today after reading your post to get C&N hotel but it is full on the dates I wanted.

Can you suggest another hotel around the 1,000 baht range in that area.
It needs only the following criteria:

* Clean
* LB Friendly
* Walking distance to Bangla Road
* Saftey depost box at reception or safe in the room.

I dont need restuarants or swimming pools - just the basics.

Thanks

Great list - thanks Mlay. I'll hopefully get a room from that lot.
All look good from their websites.

When you said they are LB/guest friendly I assume there is no additional charge for guests?

I hate it when the hotel is ok with guests - but then charge you a 'joiners fee'

Thanks
