It sounds like you were hoping to establish a relationship rather than just have casual sex. You should think back to the days of dating genetic girls (gg). Not everything is going to go right with first dates, whether you are straight, gay, bi, or into ts.
Don't overthink things, and one good thing to keep in mind is treat other people the way you would like to be treated yourself. This will often open doors in socializing/establishing relationships with other people.
