The B777 took off from runway 25 L at Tân Sơn Nhất airport and kept heading to the west. I set my phone in the "on" position and took the above pic. Here is the west side of Ho Chi Minh city / Saigon at night (*). I tried another one, but the Boeing was already flying over a cloud layer.
About 1 hour later, the sky was clear and I could see easily the cost of the Gulf of Thailand and Koh Chang. I made another pic with my phone. I realized that the camera of my phone was not able to make such a pic when I tried to catch Pattaya. I asked my neighbors to go to the locker and pulled my camera. I could make the following pic of the south-east of Bangkok. Suvarnabhumi was under the wing (right of the pic).

I resized the pic to erase the shadow of the wing and the wing position light that blinded the pic.
A few seconds later, I could make a couple of pics of the south of Bangkok.

One can see Chonburi (and maybe Pattaya) in the bottom and right below the wing the dark spot is a loop of the Chao Phraya river around Moo 6 and Moo 8. On of the roads is Sukhumvit.
The following pic is almost the same. It is easier to see the cost of the Gulf of Thailand. The first cape is south of Chonburi, then the bright light is Laem Chanbang and the 3rd one is Pattaya. One can still see the form of Naklua and the straight lines of Pattaya while Jomtien is lost in the dark of the pic.

Last, I still could catch the West of Bangkok. Inside the loop of the Chao Phraya river, the Royal Palace is illuminated between th Chao Phraya and Maha Chai Road.
