If you want to watch something like Netflix in Thailand you will be blocked or uk streaming like I player. People say you can use a DNS or vpn to overcome this issue, does anyone know a good one to download that's reliable,?

If all you want is to access websites which are geo-restricted then try hola. I use it constantly for restricted website access in Thailand for BBC iPlayer, DailyMail etc.. Also, see here.

If you want to hide behind a VPN or pretend to be in another country then try CyberGhost.

Both free.

DC mentioned excellent solutions. I would only add Black VPN ( http://www.blackvpn.com/  ). Sometimes already TOR is enough (  http://www.torproject.org/ ).

Great, a little unsure which option is best as they sound like they will all do the job. Want to access sites that have restrictions abroad and can only be used in the uk and a few other countries so these sound the right solutions

I use ExpressVPN and have found it very reliable and able to hook with a number of locations around the world. I am usually hooked up with Los Angeles or New York and has worked in Philippines, Thailand and Japan. Good streaming!!

As a backup, try Tunnelbear. The free version has a limit on monthly downloads, but works pretty well as an alternate.

Old, cantankerous, and sorry if I piss you off - well, not really. Just enjoy!

Great will try that also, limit on downloads? Does it work like data, does streaming count or browsing the web?

I always try to use a VPN on forums for anonymity. But I find that it's really down to whether the site is well maintained, full of polite users, or if you find it's active.
